We did well, despite some of our party not quite being in the right spot for round 4.

I always wondered how groups could take so long in part 4... now I know. Still, I never thought that other people would use silver flame clubs at cap.

Let this be a decree to the forums:
Any complaints about wiping in the Shroud because of "bad DPS" are hereby invalidated.
If we can do it with Silver Flame Clubs (casters/clerics included!) then any group should be able to complete.
Next idea: Shield-Bash Shroud?
Very nice job, guys! That was a lot of fun!

Yeah.. even the devils and orthons were actually going down fairly quickly with just dps. Sure helps when everyone is more motivated to just attack 1 mob at a time.

We're experimenting with different ways to make damage worthwhile again for both mundane classes and spellcasters.

"This is the BEST part 2 Ever. . usually i dont get to assassinate anything... this time i got to do like 10 mobs." --Backk
The End of part 4:
"He's in the Army, maybe he got called away for something important."-Hexxa
"Hey, I'm back, I passed out." Farbeyond.
This was fun from the very start with people really coming together as a team to get the clubs, and the materials for ritual 1. I have every confidence that if we moved over to game like WOW or FFXI ( where people have to work together to collect tons of things/craft/acquire crazy mounts) we'd be just fine lol.
Awesome Video and photos:) Thank you for posting.
We could do the All naked HIPS through Titan next ( strip your character and only use what you find in chests) However, Hexxa still doesn't have her stuff in the right place:)

A lot of us did adamantine ritual I on them to increase hardness and durability. Many of the melees broke in part 4 and 5, however, but we made sure to have a few spares on each character just in case.

None of us were melee casters, we all beat the **** out of him, on elite, with spells only. This was particularly compounded in part 4 by loosing a lot of casters right of the bat in the first few rounds.

I was allowed to cast provided I only held silver flame clubs in my hands - and I just had to steal the last arretrikos kill =)

Cool idea and nicely done!
I especially like the Cleric (Hexxa) leading in kills!
I guess Blade Barriers are pretty uber when all the melees are gimped?? Or was there a more interesting explanation?
EDIT: In fact, the best that ANY melee did on the kill chart was significantly less than half of Hexxa. Perhaps what you've just proven is that you don't actually need melee DPS at all to complete the Shroud?

Hex, and several of our guild clerics often lead in kill count, even in our normal shrouds. This is because they spend a fair bit of part 1 destructing trogs (its not as if they need to heal in part 1, and there is plenty of time to zap inbetween swings on portals). In part 1 alone, a cleric can easily rack up 20+ kills even while mostly beating on portals.
In the silver flame club shroud, I think that hex was also responsible for killing alot of the gnolls in part 4 (we went 7 rounds so there was quite a few to kill).

Almost all our kills were from trash in part 1. Part 2 was particularly easy, because the clubs penetrated the DR that could be penetrated, and fire ellies have a strong dislike for my cold spells, silver flame clubs or not.
Also, in part 4, I was assigned arretrikos duty, using all my mana to dps him, instead of killing trogs, something that the clerics and other caster took over.

No need to heal in part 1????? I coulda sworn that those portals do a TON of damage to party members! Otherwise I wouldnt need all the GD buffs I keep getting in pugs after I type, "I dont need any buffs other than bard songs" This ends up translating to, "Give me GH, Blur, Stoneskin, Jump, ALL the resists, Poison, Stalwart, SR, FoM, TS, Protections from evil, Aid, DW, Mass Pro, Ranger Bark (extended no less) Inspire Heroics, Inspire Competence, Longstrider, and a few others I cant see because my buffs extend all the way across my screen"
I mean if those portals attacks werent so brutal I wouldnt need all those buffs right? RIGHT????
Hex leading th kill count reminds me of a run where she was drinking pots in pt one to beat Omber in the kill count :) Good Times.

I had an unfair advantage over the Sorcs I think--I have both spell focuses in Necro, as well as all spell pen feats/enhancements, and heighten SO even without my Wis Scepter I was able to zap alot through parts 1 & 2, as well as part 4 Gnolls but those are easy peasy. I made a strategical error in part 2, or I wouldve had more kills--muahahhaha.
We did do an all Cleric Shroud :) But you can't zap Harry!! Er at least not anymore:)

I had two clubs with the adamantine ritual on them (ingredients courtesy of Caffeine) and another four plain ones. At the end of part 5, four of them were completely broken, and the others were below 50%. Check out my guide of item damage (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=144744) for such interesting facts like how portals don't damage weapons! (bump it!) :)

In evaluating the two threads, I gotta go with this thread. My review of the Kargon thread suggests you caused the necro by sending the link to a drunk guildy. Here, nothing at all motivated the necroer to post about his regret selling his silver flame clubs. I also give him bonus points for having a quote from a certain well known forum personality. So while I agree the other thread was marvelous, this necro is not mere trolling; it is Art.

On a somewhat related note, since the thread is alive and well again - I'm really digging the idea mentioned earlier of naked runs using only what players find in chests in the quest itself - Without all the guards, stat items, spell enhancements etc, it would make some runs MUCH more interesting :)

This is actually really fun, we did it for VONs when level cap was 16--we ran all 4 pre quests and used items from them as well.
We want to do this again, BUT, you kinda got to dump everything from your backpack as you need to save everything you pull in case someone else needs it. It took forever to do at lvl 16 without all the epic gear and different sets for every situation, I dread doing it now.
But let me tell you, Ive never seen a person so happy over a potion of JUMP before:)

I will second that the naked runs were a blast. I used the AH as a way to store my gear that I couldn't fit into a backpack and wasn't bound, just put it up for ridiculous prices and collected it when it cleared the 8 hour window. :)

I think you might have missed his point. He was saying that he should link the post to show that all the extra fluff that people demand is unnecessary. There are quite a few of the new generation that honestly don't think it can be completed without having every buff known to man and everything optimized.
