Ok, I googled and searched the forums, but I am neither a spy nor a research assistant so figured I'd just ask for help.

I want to unlock the drow race. I have a paladin, level 11 with ~ 900 favor. Read you just need 400 favor to open them. Is there something obvious I am missing? Any help would be great.

Go to the Harbor.

Near the Harbor Master's House entrance, there's a Drow standing around.

Talk to him.

I believe the NPC's name is Nyx.

Cheers

Tried this game long ago when it first came out, not been back since.

Can anyone give me a general estimate of how long it takes to build up the 400 favor to unlock a Drow? Hours, days, weeks, months?

Thank you

If you really kill it, you could probably do it in a day. But a couple of days to a week is probably pretty realistic, depending on how much you play.

thank you for the quick answer :)

As long as it is a reasonable amount of time as in hours I am not bothered by it. I just didn't want to hear you need to be playing for months and months doing high level raids and jumping through endless hoops, hehe.

How do you do it in a day? Just find a team grinding favor? Or?... I have a level 4 character 3palading/1fighter. And my favor is 178/400... I have no idea what to do to maximize favor gain. I mostly solo because I know Noone on my server at all.

Don't worry about knowing anyone, open up the LFM pannel and join a group or form your own. It's easy to meet people in this game :) When you find a guild name that you generally enjoy playing with ppl from, ask about joining them too :)

Yeah you can earn store points (25 points per 100 favor I believe) to unlock the Drow, Warforge, Monk and Favored Soul on all servers.

When you get the 400 favor on one server, and go talk to Nyx it only unlocks drow for that server.

New players who try to tackle everything by themselves can easily take several weeks to earn 400 favor, especially if they don't have great deal of time to play and/or don't understand the need to do quests on hard/elite and not just solo/normal.

There are a couple of keys to earning favor quickly. One is to join/create groups as often as possible, which will speed quest advancement and also help you meet people with whom you can adventure throughout your time in DDO. Another is to understand that the game gives you half normal favor for completing a quest on solo but x2 for hard and x3 for elite, which means you need to do quests on tougher difficulty levels to accumulate favor very rapidly. A final tip is to keep an eye out for quests you haven't done that are 1 level below you, because there's no XP penalty for doing them and you should be able to breeze through most of them even when adventuring by yourself.

How much favor to unlock favored soul?

Thanks in advance

When dealing with favor for finished quests, keep in mind that you only get favor points for the first completion each on normal/hard/and elite. Furthermore, the points you get for normal hard and elite dont stack with each other. However, this means the first time you finish quest on elite you get the same number of point regardless of whether you have completed the quest previously on normal, hard, or never attempted.

To get favor fast, run quests on elite only. Keep in mind this can be quite difficult. If you or the party are not ready for the challenge it can end up taking a lot longer to finish, and not finishing means no favor for your time. We are talking about 30 quest runs (give or take 10).

The favor TP rewards were not granted retroactively.

Um, yes they were.

On mod9 launch day I had just under 4000 Turbine Points.

I just logged every character on every server - I had 1750 on the 5 servers pre-mod9 and I had heaps of DDO Points mail :)

That's not from favor.

I don't have the list in front of me but if you had everything you should have started with about 3900 TP not including any from favor. ANd they have specifically said you did not get retroactive favor.

I had like 5 mails on my 1750 guys saying 25TP for hitting all the 100 marks - I had to sit there and delete em all.

If they didn't give the favour, they sure as hell sent the mails it took me hours to delete them all..

That's partially incorrect. You did get retroactive favor for the "per server milestone" favor retroactively. What you didn't get retroactively was the per char based 25TP/100favor

hi, just wondering if i'd need an extra character slot since i already used 2 on my account to unlock drow, considering if i already have enough favor points and i'm a f2p player. (sry if i asked a nub question, plz dont attack me wit ur +1 club of sarcasm for a answer, thnx!)

I thought we would get a third slot for Drow and a fourth for 1750 - but Turbine obviously thought this was bad business.

I unlocked drow on my second (FTP) account - still only two slots available on that server.

Not cool, Turbine.

If you invest in paying $6.25 US for the 400 Turbine Point Pack you will get an extra 2 character slots per server for free. Some of the other limitations from being F2P will also be lifted. I believe you can pay that $6.25 via PayPal if that helps you at all.

Second account. As in I have another account. As in not sinking money into bank mules :)

<< check the join date ;)

I can also use my credit card, I'm in NZ. Just not gonna on my second account.

Reading comprehension is a valuable asset, but I thank you for the input :)

...It's just a shame that VIPs got ripped for the character slots that they used to be able to open with favour - are now only available from the DDO store.
