how do I do it? Is there an easy soloable area that gives some xp? I'm sort of a wimp when I have to fight more than one or two at a time.

Get yourseff some slayers in the desert.

Wont give you two levels, but some nice XP.

Slayers in the desert? For a solo bard level 9-11 who admits to being "sort of a wimp" in combat? That sounds....painful. Remember, bards that level don't have greater heroism yet, so they'd have to avoid the undead area unless they had a fear immunity item.

I'd go with Sorrowdusk Isle till you max out the slayer count there, at least. The trolls can be a pain with no fire or acid spells, but a few well-placed charms can work wonders for a soloer. Once you've gotten comfortable with the "army of minions" thing, you can try tougher explorer zones like Ataraxia's & the Desert, and probably make it through some quests as well.

Yeah, Ataraxia's is probably a much better choice than the desert.

Also, try soloing your lower level favor quests up to elite. It will get you closer to the 1750 and you'll be getting XP for any level 4-5 elite quests.

Now, if you can find a nice melee to buff up, you could probably do anything!

Get in some Gianhold Groups? A Bard is generally welcome to help Increase DPS and EVen with the low Population lately, GH Groups always fill up fast inthat level range.

9-11

Run Tempest Spine N-H-Elite

Run Cabal, Feast, Foundation on Normal

Run c06 n-h-elite

That should get you there

That is a great level to start going back and doing some of the favor stuff, for those times when you can't get a group going. You still get XP for most of them on elite, and you will have to do them sooner or later anyhow if you want 1750 favor.

I always just go into my quest log, sort them by level, and see what I need on elite. Start from the bottom, work your way up.

Also, it's sort of a Murphy's Law thing that when you get into a groove doing favor runs someone sends you a tell asking if you want to do some high XP quest :)

Some of these answers are so Mod 7....:D

A grunt Hireling can provide the missing muscle. Keep them buffed, and with your charmed minions you can handle most areas. Sorrowdusk is good. Almost all of the mobs can be CC'd. Toss CHARM on the grunts, let them beat up the enemy shamen/casters. Stagger the charms so they don't wear off. Fascinate for uber CC when needed. MS items help a lot too.

Sorrowdusk is decent EXP for the Slayers. Should be "soloable".
Move to Ataraxia's (sp) Haven next.

Redwillow is a good Bard quest if you can land the Charms, even the end fight can be won by your minions.

The Desert can be challenging since Undead are harder to handle, vermin are immune, and the Gnolls tend to spot you pretty easy and love to nail you with infinite range (or so it seems) archer fire, BUT, you can nab some EXP by just dashing about, hitting the explorer spots and working a few fights if you get some charms off.

Gianthold is another place where making the mobs work for you can pay off, however, the risk/reward is pretty steep, since even one mob aggro'd on you could be curtains.

For some quicky experience, if you have good CC, you can always run the Threnal Giant Caves and make them fight for you. First cave, if you get the Fire giants, just recall, and retry for the hill giant version (much much easier with much lower will saves) for the same EXP and loot.

If you have not got all the items you want out of Tangleroot, you could run that as well. There are some parts you can work where you get some nice EXP with very little risk (run to the far gate parts). Again, make the mobs work FOR you killing each other.

I liked to have items like Cursespewers and Destruction weapon (Melee or Ranged) on my bard at those levels. Those -4's really helped. Even a level 9 will get some deecnt EXP in TR on Elite for early parts and hard/normal later if you are not up for Elite.
