So I finally got bit by the rouge bug not pure mind you but still slightly bit by the bug. I rolled up a halfling str based rogue the plan is to multiclass a bit.
lvl1 rogue
lvl2-7 ranger
lvl8 fighter
lvl9 rogue
lvl10 fighter
lvl11-20 rogue
starting stats
14str +2 tome 16
16dex+1 tome 17
14con+2tome 16
15 int+1 tome16
10wis+1 tome11
8 cha
Im odds are Ill ill go kopesh as I have a ton vs not having rapiers and wasnt sure about light picks on a finess build hence the str build. I figre with lvl ups and rams the str should be fine and hopfully not excessive. General thoughts would be awsome. I simply enjoy the tempest beni's and would like the extra feats from ftrr for kopesh and skill focus umd. I figure 12 rogue lvls still gives me a solid amount of backstab.
Cheers

That's all I wanted to say....good luck with the build brother! I just re-rolled my rogue, so we'll see what happens with that.

No idea...I've only tried the Assassin build, which I really liked once I got to that point.
IMO, your building this poor rogue to front line but not going to be special in either ac or hp. You will likely play him like a tough guy like your other toons and be disapponted. I might suggest really giving rogueing a try both by build and a class specific play style. Rage let me suggest this as a compromise to consider. 18/2 rogue/ranger assassin. If halfling is to your liking try 12 18 14 14 8 10 feated weapon finess, improved and greater two weapon fighting, ic pierce, three healing marks. Bit cookie cutter, but is a super solid build that let's you really rogue tacticly and just plain destroy at higher levels. Dex based short swords are fine till you craft rapiers if your collection is soft.

Great suggestions Varr you know I always respect your opinions. I thought about the monk splash for the ac but I just cant wrap my biased mind around it. I did build him so if I need to mainline I can. I just dont like finess builds and as all toons are str builds I just dont keep the stash of ss,and, rapiers around. My collection of light picks has diminished as Soul capped and buddies needed my low lvl picks. I know he will be fine on traps and should only come a 40 or so hp shy of Ice. My main thought is do I take that second rogue lvl at say 4 to get evasion quicker? I honestly rolled the halfling because I have a ton of dwarves and humans and figured he would be a fun change, and I like the guile backstab. If I hadnt dropped the tomes already I might have tried your build. Or I can save up and work it in for the next. He has been a blast thus far.

As long as you're having fun with him, that's all that matters! Oh and by the way...I think TOR is calling our name brother!

I like the 15rogue/1monk builds....great AC and DPS through a maxed sneak attack.

just a thought but since you are going 12 rogue, you might as well go to 13 and get crippling strike. with a good weakening scimmy and/or a rad scimmy you will be pretty happy at end game. i know that fighter 2 is another feat but if you can squeeze it i would consider. fwiw i am working on a similar dwarf build but i am considering a barb spalsh instead of fighter (13/6/1). monk is an obvious choice but it is meh, barb for flavor

That is an awsome suggestion. I honestly didnt know I would gain anything by going 12 over 13. Ive got a similar dwarf coming up in a static grp. Ill have to remember that for him too.

you get a rogue ability at 10 and 13, guessing imp evasion at 10 so crip strike at 13, plus 13 gives u more sa (7d6 total) dam too. i dont know what the ss dam totals from the halfling enhancements plus tharnes will be but it will be healthy for sure. i am still on the fence on my dwarf, i want to go barb for flavor, but the fighter feat would really help. anyway good luck with the builds

The barb for flavor would be sweet but I think you are right the ftr will help with the feat and youll still get the extra 10 hp

Also does acrobat work with twf?
you gte the bounus movement speed and the immunity to knockdown/slippery surface but no bonus to attack speed unless you're using q-staves (but the pre-req attack speed bonus clicky is sweet to have as are the extra Imp Uncanny dodges you get). I actually prefer Acrobat to Assassin but prob has to do with playstyle and who i group with etc...
