Ok, I admit that I game in a solo mode far more often than not.
A challenge for those in the know.
While not new to DDO, I am a returning player and I am looking for a real good, strong build which would permit me to solo just about everything within DDO, while still being able to contribute to day-to-day guild, party and raid based activities.
What I am looking for has a few pre-requisites.
1) 28 point build with a 32 point as an option.
2) The class/race needs to be able to go solo as far into DDO as possible to include raid settings.
3) No extra CASH or GEAR from other characters. Consider this a new account starting out with a brand new character.
4) No Tomes. None. Zero. Not even the DDO Birthday Cake.
5) While I not against multiclass characters, I would prefer to have a pure build. Options are open however.
6) Any gear to include crafting would need to be found along the way of normal character leveling. However, this does not rule out using the auction house as money permits.
So, with the places restriction: can it be done?
If you have a response, please be as detailed as possible.
Thanks

Do you have a preference for melee vs casting classes?

Here's Dresek's Ultimate Solo Build (tm):

14/2 Warforged Wizard Rogue
Self-healing, firewall, trap skills, evasion
Casters are much less gear dependent than melee

Ive personally solo'd alot with this (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=169614) build when grinding 1750 on a new server, Ive even managed to solo the Reaver with very little gear and no shroud items.
But the best solo build at the moment is probably a lvl 16 Warforged Sorcerer or Wizard/Shadow Mage for more experienced players.

The class/race needs to be able to go solo as far into DDO as possible to include raid settings.
If the solo character requires the largest amount of quest material to be soloable then you limited yourself to something that is primarily cleric or Warforged arcane with quicken (The Twilight Forge, running the crystals through the laser halls).

this.. dwarf with wis 17-18, str 16 or more, con 12 or more. feats: i recommend at least maximize, toughness, and extend, maybe quicken, improved mental toughness + what ever else you like.

Just make an arcane warforged with max casting stat and good con. Can't really go wrong from there.

I am more interested in a melee type characters but casters are not ruled out.
To all whom have responded, thanks for your feedback.

How is sending a PM less work than posting it here? :)

I personally have a 14/2 Ranger/Fighter that can solo most quests. The trick is to make the most out of your STR, DEX, CON, & WIS. I went dwarf because of the dwarven axes. You get all the TWF feats granted to you with this build, but you also get Fighter STR & Improved Crit. A friend of mine went with the same build, but went 12/4 Ranger/Fighter. I like it, might give it a shot.

first...better to pick a class with instant death..otherwise it is a pain to do quests with air elementals...
2nd....if u like to zerg quests...pick class with haste :/
3rd...if u like to do every-bit of a quest...split 1 lv of rogue nvr hurt...
myself...i will make a wf soccy, start at cha16 con18 int12 so u dont have to eat any tome at creation...
if you like melee...rogue/ranger/monk mix is a good choice, as it offers good ac, nice dps, wand-whip, trap monkey ability
yet i will not suggest playing a melee toon if you want to solo only (all normal quests...excluding raids), as melee takes too long time and too much resources to run most quests if solo...
i have recently played a solo only wf soccy..is now lv 13 and working fine...but i am not sure if it is possible to solo all soloable quests....(e.g. possible to 1 man titan?)
