Anyone see any good builds for this? I sort of wanted to give it a go.

It's just a STR build with THF instead of TWF feats; may be viable in mod 9 with glancing blow effects, but currently loses out, DPS-wise, to a STR build TWF monk.

I'm making one of these right now THF Fire Stance.....as I have always made builds to suit my tastes not the mainstream robotic mentality some people expect u to conform to.

I am having quite a bit of fun with this build. I will be going all 3 THF feats, started with STR 18, will do 3 level up points here. One is going to DEX. Took cleave and if I am not mistaken u get one point of Ki for each monster u hit while cleaving. Works nicely. I also have a TWF Wind Stance monk and I have to say I am actually enjoying the THF one more.

You may also think about going WF for the THF enhancments.

I have a guildie who has this over on Lamannia and loves it.

Bjarkenmann is a max. strength, Warforged, THF quarterstaff monk that uses Fire Stance.

He is one of my most fun characters. Moves really fast, hits awfully hard, great AC, evasion, saves, abundant step.... just plain fun. And I'd have to say he's even more fun on Lammy right now with the mod9 preview.

That said, I owe my guildies a lot for putting up with him at the middling levels and as he accumulated a few items along the way. ;)

I'm also currently working on a build like this. Seems to work well so far. I didn't max out my strength fully, but am using Power Attack, THF, Cleave, and Fire Stance. Does a good amount of damage.

I am making one , strength based, but using wind stance as I like the melee speed boost rather than the small increase to hit/dmg.

..is going with a rogue/monk multiclass, and Thief-Acrobat enhancements.

There is some amount of synergy between the two classes, and the T-A gives you a bonus to attack speed that stacks with wind stance. The downside is that it can be fairly stat-intensive if you want to be a well-rounded character (i.e., capable of trapsmithing at higher levels, or having enough wisdom to make AC relevant), but that can be overcome with enough +2 tomes. :)

I only have 28 point buy, think I could get away with just saying screw wisdom with this build? I was thinking pretty much stat wise just have him built like a fighter, 10 wisdom and focus on dex str and con.

This depends....if u want higher reflex to make better use of ur evasion and that is mostly what u are worried about, yeah ditch the wisdom.

I think this is a mistake tho as u get AC from both wisdom and dex when a monk, it costs fewer ability points when u first create ur character, say u start with 14 wis, 14 dex......it would be cheaper than going 18 dex as the price to go up one stat point increase after a certain point to more than just one point per stat point.

Plus the extra wisdom helps ur will saves and the saves the monsters have to make against ur finishing moves if u go dominion. I'm pretty sure wisdom effects how much u get back per tick once u get wholeness of body too.
