Well I'd like to ask why you have a level of cleric, and why you are using a tower sheild?

I solo a lot, needed more SP and Sorcerer wasnt a good option... My Wisdom is high enough so he got from about 300 sp to 515. Second I looted the sheild and use it too boost AC occasionally... My main question was how to get it higher withought the sheild :p

Self healing was important... Since I never have enought plat I needed more Sp to heal myself

reroll and take monk instead of cleric.

*** do you need mana for other than Barkskin and maybe a fom?

Ok ok maybe a resistance or two, but even then really? need that much sp to solo?

edit - I just saw you edited to add not having enough plat - not that I can understand that but ok I guess.

Check your ac to see if your full dex bonus is being applied, or are you overloaded?

My Ranger has 31 Dex total with items, hes got +6 Armored Bracers and Always uses Outfits. Hes lv 16 atm multiclassed with 1 Fighter and 1 Cleric. His AC withought buffs is 32 and with barkskin is 37 or lower I believe. If I put on my +4 Mithral Tower sheild He gets to 41 AC. Problem is, I would wear heavy armor and my AC would be about 45 or 46 but I can't evade with it on.... Help me out please!

1. The tower shield is capping your dex; find a +5 heavy shield.
2. Icy raiment will give you +4 dodge bonus; you can evade in mithril full plate, but it will cap your dex bonus.
3. You can find +7 armored bracers pretty easily.
4. Chattering ring will give you +3 dodge bonus.
5. DT robes have +6 armor, and you can get +3 dodge on them (doesn't stack w/ ring) and then use chaosgarde bracers for another +2 dodge bonus.
6. Reroll and splash monk :p

Tough build with 1 cleric / 1 fighter. But I like a challenge!

you said your dex is 31 and you are using +6 AC bracers... Are you using a protection item? even a +5 item shouldn't be too difficult to acquire... Because you splashed one level of cleric, you should get recitation wands, those will give you 2 more and last for ~30 seconds if I remember right.

Now lets talk feats... as a ranger I am assuming you took dodge? If not, you should swap feats and get dodge, mobility, and spring attack, and spec for tempest. Do you have a (unbuffed/unmodified) intelligence of 13? you can swap out a feat for Combat Expertise.

Items... I would start to hoard/buy any items with shield clickies. These are only 1 minute long, but can go a long way towards helping your AC. you need to join any group that says they are doing subterrenean skelly runs. an outfit drops in there called Icy Rainment. This is a must have for dex based outfit wearers. You also should start flagging for the titan raid (you will need to do the quests hiding in plain sight, bring me the head of Ghola-Fan, and Slavers of the shrieking mines). One you do that, every 3 days you can run the titan raid until you get a chance at a chattering ring. Understand these are very hard to get.

Shroud: As a level 16, find a shroud group and start running it. This again will take a while, but you will want to end up with a weapon that gives you +4 insight bonus to your AC... Until then, finding a parrying weapon gives you +1

AC breakdown for you:

What you can do right now (with what you told us):
10 base
6 bracers
10 dex
5 barkskin
5 protection
4 shield clicky
2 recitation wand
1 haste pot
2 defensive fighting

45 AC.

With some feat swapping (dodge, CE, tempest)
10 base
6 bracers
10 dex
5 barkskin
5 protection
4 shield clicky
2 recitation wand
1 haste pot
5 Combat Expertise
2 tempest
1 dodge feat
1 parrying weapon

52 AC

With some medium-hard to get items
+4 Icy Rainment +4 shroud weapon (lose the parrying so only +3 overall) = 59AC.

With some very difficult to get items
+3 chattering ring +1 for +7 bracers = 63AC.

Understand this, tho. There are some penalities for sacrificing so much to get your AC into the 60's. Many builds lose a majority of their effectiveness if not planned right.

It is just as (if not more) important as a player to learn to adapt to a low AC situation. How do you manage aggro if you know they are going to hit you every time? Waiting until one of the main tanks establishes aggro, minimal (if ever) use of the bow, skill ranks in diplomacy, etc... these are all good alternatives to farming for hard to get AC boosting items.

hope this helps!

Hmmmm.... I'd take another look at that :p

This is what you have so far:

10 base
7 bracers
10 dex
5 barkskin
5 protection
2 Tempest untyped (will be changed soon)
1 Dodge = 40. You may have some additional bonuses that give you the other 3 AC, but I can't really tell what they are.

You may also get ac from:

- Monk Wisdom Bonus (requires 1 monk level) +1AC for every 2 wisdom above 10
- armor ritual = +1
- Combat expertise (stance, requires 13 base int)
- Insight = +2 or +4 (requires of parrying weapon, or shroud 3d tier, or DT 3d tier)
- TWF defense = +1
- Icey Rainments = +4 dodge
- Chattering Ring = +3 Dodge
- Chaosguard = +2 dodge (incompatable with armored bracers)
- Aura =1-5 (requires pally levels or a pally nearby)

Short Term buffs

- Tumble - +4 or higher to AC when Tumbling
- Haste = +1
- Haste Guard = +1
- Bard song = +4
- Recalcitration = +2.
- AC Boost

FYI...if you take the ranger devotion enhancements and make a super sweet Air II spell point greensteel item that will give you all the self healing you need.

With CSW, a Superior Devotion IV shield, Ranger Devotion and the greensteel you can will end up with ~525sp (I cant remember 100% off the top of my head) spell points and heal for about 55 points a pop...toss in maximize if you have the feats open and that is some sexy self healing action you got :)

Hmmmm.... I'd take another look at that :p

maybe he meant 'mithral breast plate.' or was thinking of with a towershield.

for the OP:

evasion--
Description: When you make a successful Reflex save to avoid damage, you suffer no damage instead of half damage. This feats only works if the character is wearing light armor or no armor and if the character is not heavily encumbered.
