I finished a nice smooth Shroud last night (Thanks Thac0!) and decided to stop debating my offhand weapon and made another Radiance II Rapier. My first is Holy/Flame Burst/+2 Exc Dex. I thought about making the same but with +2 exc Int but ended up doing Flame Blast for Tier 3. It know it's a minor point (the real value is radiance, obviously) but I think the flame blast is a nice addition for creatures that are not evil (spiders, rats, animals, etc.) and don't take Holy damage.

I had to unequip my beloved +4 Acid Rapier of Backstabbing +5/+8 so I lost a lot of SA damage but the dual RadII's MORE than made up for it. Getting the mobs blinded twice as fast means much more consistent damage output and that 4d6 on every crit on both hands is great. I tore the Vale without even stealthing or assassinating and had great solo DPS.

This combination will be sick when I finally get Tharne's Goggles.

If only you could tack on Greater Arachnid Bane.... you'd be set!

Vermin are all (as far as I remember) immune to radience anyway. Many of them are better off vorpaled, esp. on elite, if you aren't getting your SA. I carry a set of vorpals of deception specifically for solo runs that hit big vermin (Most spiders and scorpions. Fiend bloods and vale spiders are NOT immune to blindness).

I'm hoping next mod has a weapon of greater deception (say 25% proc rate), so that my rogue can get sneaks in while solo on blind-immune things like red names.

Many of them are immune to radiance blindness but not the Radiance damage (4d6 light). Few are immune to a freakin' blast of fire into those disgusting, bulging eyes.

(yeah, I HATE spiders)
