View Full Version : List your "Top Priority" for DDO

As many of us know, throughout the life of DDO things we have wanted or have been talked about as being added to the game have not always materialized. There has been many requests for a great deal of things yet most of what we have dreamed would be a great addition to the game we simply have not gotten.

From guild housing, more quests/raids, real crafting, to new races/classes, more spells, to coloring our armor, etc. Big things along with small things. Even though we are just players and do not decide what becomes "Top Priority" of Turbine to do for the game, I am curious about if we had a say, what would be your top 10 things you would like to see be as "Top Priority" for Turbine to bring to us for the next year?

P.S. Be sure to let your guildmates and friends ingame know and come here to list their top 10 as well, the more the better.

Have to agree, I am fine with no guild housing etc, while cool - compared to content its trival to me.

So, for me without a doubt content.

Honestly back before mod 1 they announced they would be adding prestigue levels like dragon disciple. I still have a level 10 sorc sitting there waiting to take his 10 levels of dragon disciple. Now after 3 years they have implimented a few enhancements and are calling it prestigue lines. I want the real prestigue levels we were promised 3 years ago. Oh and content.

prestigue levels
I think you mean Prestige Classes.

My list, in order of importance:

1. I'd love to see some fluffy stuff go in like more hairstyles and fashions, maybe a bit of appearance customization.
2. More Prestige Enhancements and Capstones!
3. I'd also like stuff to do outside of questing and raiding, such as more crafting and
4. ...perhaps housing or guild housing. I reckon those two things could add a whole other dimension to the game and socializing. I'd enjoy furnishing a little cottage, maybe getting a garden going ouside of it, etc. The more furnishing/wallpaper/carpet/accessories variety the better! The ability to have a pet at my home would be adorable too; meet Sooty, my cat! :D (I love Animal Crossing!!!)
5. New classes would be nice, because I enjoy making new characters, and always have some lowbies and plans for more. A few classes I like most are the Favoured Soul, Ninja, Psion, Warlock, Samurai, and maybe Artificer.
6. New races are nice, especially if they're attractive. I'm not so keen on Gnomes for example, because they might end up looking a bit like mini dwarves (short and homely). :p Races I'm partial to are Dragonborn (look cool), Half-Orcs, Half-Elves, Tieflings, Kalashtar, Shifters/Changelings, maybe Aasimar (luv wings!).
7. New quests are fine too, though I've got most interest in activities that let me take breaks from lots of raiding/questing.
8. Brand new weapon effects.

1. Fix lag
2. Bug fixing
3. Respec
4-10. Everything else really don't mind in what order.

Imo, continuing the development of content and other stuff (don't get me wrong, i want it all), without solidifying the foundations will just make known issues worse. Respec will add a lot to the devs freedom and thus eventually enhance content, good investment imo.

Make the current game better first, then the new content will be so much more enjoyable.

I think you mean Prestige Classes.

Prestige classes are levels you take in place of the normal ones or prestige levels.

In short I think what people are saying is DDO feels like a game that released last week early to beat a dead line even though it wasn't ready yet. Sadly it has been out 3 years and still has this feel.

If people could, please fill out more than just few things. If you have to come back and add more later, that is fine too. 10 items is more ideal, for a better feel of this.

Fix lag I am seeing the Pit Fiend at half health while people are pulling loot from the chest.

I used to swing at a portal that went down for everyone else like 15 seconds before until I decided to just start following the pack when it moved.

The hireling AI basically works (might still need tweaking). Let's see it on summoned critters and Familiars. In fact, let's see it on NPCs. Successful use of Bluff/Diplo/Intim gives time and task limited use of the NPC. Build THAT into the quest goals and story line. Ability to convert armor/robe, hat/helmet, or weapon appearance from one look to another (should probably exclude named items).
Ability to disassemble/reassemble weapons to get appearance and traits STARTING AT LOWEST LEVELS. Once my weapon has it's signature appearance, I'd like to build it's capabilites so it stays relevant and useful. Call it a signature weapon. Make it bound. Exclude named items. Require feeding it vendor trash when upgrading.
Monthly quest additions between mods. I'm guessing the work that goes into a raid or large chain would keep these comparable to "Flagon" sized quests. Any quest level is OK. Low level vignette's to give build experimenters, re-rollers, and permadeathers a new flavor. Mid level short stories to ease some of the doldrums some players say they feel in the 8-12 range. Upper level novellas to run while awaiting full groups to form. Those sorts of non-grindy and fun things to run.

PS
I'd like a little more D&D in my DDO, a little more Eberron in my Stormreach. And Sharn. Sharn would be good.

I was going to list "more content" but since Turbine has an EXTREMELY liberal definition of "content," I'll be more specific.

More high level quests with high level rewards.

That's the biggest priority in my book. I'm not one of those players who thinks a character's life ENDS at the level cap, I think it BEGINS at the level cap. I don't reroll and don't need more character slots and have no interest in having a character list on my forum signature that's longer than my post. I want to play Dresek the assassin and I want more for him to do.

Kate, God love ya, having the word "Crate" appear above a crate may be nice but it's not content. Having the wimpy gnoll behind me targeted when Arraetrikos the Freakin' Pit Fiend is in front of me throwing Delayed Blast Fireballs in my face is not content. Hearing Jeets speak with the same over-used cockney accent that every other halfling rogue has used in the history of gaming is not content. A new icon for my character sheet is not content.

DDO is about quests. QUESTS are content.

My top 5 in Green.

1) Cleric PrE's

2) One-Time Character Skill Pt. (and nothing else) Allocation Re-Spec. at Cap

3) Cleric Domains

4) Gear Appearance Tweaking. (Armor, Shields, Helms and visible Cloaks! -Color, Style, SPIKES!)

5) Bound Items like say a Ring or whatever = Account bound.

6) Monk PrE's

7) Melee DPS/Healing Received Ratio on Quest Info-Sheet. (Find out who's the real Tank not just the Nuclear Mana Sponge Warhead)

8) Cleric PrE's

9) High End Content

10) New Weapons - Spears; Halberds; FLAILS!

Note: - I don't have a Cleric (Trust me Gregorius doesn't even come close :D ) yet it would greatly increase peoples desire to run this class again and giving a "range" to play this poor under-appreciated class (from the Healbot to the Barbarian-Shaman Clerics) out there would be good for the game and players who actually enjoy keeping the sponges full-o-mana.

My list:

1. More quests/raids down the line from low level to high level.

2. More advertisement and a real push to market DDO.

3. A full crafting system alongside full "professions" for our characters. (I am looking right at you LOTRO)

4. An open, ever growing, living, breathing and dynamic world to stretch our feet.

5. The more character races the better.

6. The more character classes the better.

7. Individual and smaller types of respecs that make sense, like "A" skill respec.

8. Elite difficulty setting that means Elite.

9. Guild Housing and Banking that are within actual, individual houses.

1. More open communication from the Devs...this vast and mysterious bs has to go. Im sure most of us would be far more patient if we knew what the hell was going on and why things were taking as long as they are.

2. More questlines for low and midlevel content, not just endgame stuff

3. Actually being able to craft like the core rules such as scrolls, pots, wands.

4. Better named Items that actually mean something again

5. More favor rewards at various stages instead of what we have now. How bout something for hitting the 1000 favor level? 2000?

6. Spell component bags

7. Guild hall and bank

8. Much larger explorer areas or perhaps a revamp of travel between points. Instead of a load screen how bout making the trip to stormcleave a quest chain all its own?

9. Something more worthy than Kobolds ffs! Why not goblins? Orcs? Anything but freakin kobolds lol!

10. I want a quest based on the Original Caves of Chaos! Man that Module Rocked back in the day!!!!

Content is very important to me.

However that being said I would like to see no more content updates to the devil line story. We need 3 or 4 other non-connected story lines or quests with far different monsters and end bosses than what we have in game now. One type of end bos I will never personally tire of is dragons as long as they have their own story line. I would like to see a green dragon added to game though as well.

If possible stop the kill the end boss quests or raids and then have to kill them again and again and again. I don't know why this was ever done it just makes no sense to me.

1. Fixing the lag issues, finally got a decent internet and still getting slammed by lag :(
2. Content outside of questing, ie housing, an rp arena where people can get in and be in an automatic group for role play events (yes I know im not a role player but there are many who would utilize this)
3. Better crafting- use the wilderness areas (the vale, orchard, ataraxias) to hide crafting materials like they do in lotro. Stop making it chest drops only just make it based on rolls and have people farm the natural way for them.
4. make other skills as viable as umd, dunno if it needs quests revamping but having a high bluff should count for more then the few quests where you need it to talk to npcs.
5. Adjust the penalties for grouping with higher levels, now that things are getting to the 20 mark your gonna see at least a 4+ level gap between players who want to group together. though not many 16s are far off from 17s those coming up will have to wait till 17 to group with their level 20 friends.
6. More input from players allowed into serious decisions. Not nerfs but a real submit your ideas for quests, music or art.
7. Druid, half orcs, half elfs I know you cant get this done soon but I hope they are not given up on.
8. Plat sinks goes with 2 but things like houses, playable instruments and lessons, customizable gear.
9. respects if any of the above changes to skills content is made
10. better communications between releases. No I dont mean you have to tell us everything but at least give us better time frames even if it disapoints us its better then "coming soon." if its gonna take weeks fine, if its gonna take months fine. But leaving us to speculate has been disasterous.

Prioritized Wants:

1. User generated content.
- Loot tables should be creatively balanced to provide valid gear / reward for difficulty.
- Would prefer to see authors having to supply suitable rewards themselves, perhaps via some sort of Raid Points / Platinum being exchanged for items. Authors (and/or their guilds) should receive some benefit for doing this (perhaps status points or some other such pride mark). Some invention required to assure that authors or their friends do not solely (or even ever maybe) benefit from this content / reward system. When rewards not available content not available or at least force notification to players that no rewards are present, if run anyways.

2. Druids, Gnomes, Half-orcs
- All the same priority, so introduce them altogether.

3. Character housing
- Think those such as available in DAOC / SWG including many, many new fluff items (as well as including all weapons, suits of armor, potions, jewels, etc found in the game today), and looted trophy items from raids / epic questlines, etc. Auction house should be out of our home zones, could allow for a marketplace and merchant shop in each home zone, as well (for the rich to afford).
- Actually this is my number 1 priority for me personally, but listed 3rd due to need for other two first in terms of overall game and community health.
- Guild towns would be nice and could include a guild hall (see User Generated Content above about status rewards; these would support the guild hall / town preferrably).
- Generally I prefer character housing over guild housing. Guild only housing creates a lot of issues for players that move between them or do not belong at all.

4. Landmass and difficult to find content
- Add more, much larger 'explorer zones', but add quest givers into these zones that must be sought out. Make these regions 'wild' and more difficult to map (somehow). Maybe randomily place quest givers each instance.

5. Better randomization of Dungeons overall
- Trap types and their location could be much more random
- Mob encounters could be much more strategic / tactics oriented then I generally see now. For examples look to higher level DAOC Raids and EQ (1 and 2) raids for ideas.
- Dungeon layouts could be more randomized as well. For example, why doesn't crucible maze (door switches and even the swim maze) randomily-generate every instance? Simple maze generation algorithm is all that is required here (seems to me).

5. Give me a reason to wear banded or scale, etc
- A reason other than just looks.

Things I do Not Want:

1. Character respecs
- Due to the belief that it would greatly reduce the number of low level toons due to folks not recreating as often.
- Would accept a ONE time event whereby all characters above level ~9 that are already created can respec classes and stats chosen as a fix for unforeseen modifications brought in from Mod 2-9. Characters should have to use respec prior to next level or two (so they can't hold onto them!). Once all existing, qualifying characters have used these respecs they should never be allowed in game again (at least until mod 15 or so!).

2. Nerfing of Mixed Classes / Preference for Pure Classes
- Reverse the trend I see in the development of the level 16-20 enhancements that OVERLY favor the creation of pure classes. Some of us really like the idea of mixing classes -- don't make them inferior. Balance it (better) -- I agree pure classes should be much better at what they specifically do, but mixed classes should remain more independently survivable and(/or?) of much greater utility.
- BTW: Pen & Paper does this via Prestige Classes. Might be the answer needed here too, but might be doable via adding enhancements specifically pre-req'd for mixed classes (likely easier to implement).

3. Weapon nerfs -- stop them!
- Leave WOP and Transmutting alone!!

1. Relaxing the oppression on the boards
2. Fix lag
3. Druid (We need more healing classes)
4. Allow griefing of crybabies/whiners
5. Content
6. Half-orc/Half-elf/Gnome (well, maybe not gnome *shiver*)

8. Firing of all mall cops (preferably in a publically humiliating manner)

Taurnish

1. Fix lag, especially in raids, I hate to still be beating ona portal when the group has moved to the next one in shroud

2. Make crafting better and not so random : (DT armor  for example) and make crafting available at lower levels as well and with ingredients that may be found outside raids. Players will thus get the feel of some crafting before they hit the shroud. I would also prefer scales, etc fall in other chests outside shroud afterall we had an invasion. Maybe a troll or orc picked up a scale and kept it in his treasure (this seems feasible and realistic and could be a rare drop as well). The more casual players will have no chance of getting good items based on how many shroud runs it takes and the roll of the dice on what you get with the refuge runes.

3 & 4. Druids, half-orc, half-elves : enough said

5. More content at all levels and even a low level raid would be nice

6. Advertising the game more

7. Guild houses and banks

8. More spells for all casters

9. More personal style in game such as clothes and other things mentioned in the past thread or this thread: such as with character styles or with armor, shields, etc. I am sick of seeing everyone in the SAME DT ARMOR. :(:(:(BLAH.:(:(:(

10. Teleporters from Refuge, Desert, GH, etc.

Cedrica-the-Bard

1. Loot all button
2. Adjustment to mid level quests to make levelling easier with smaller groups
3. Adjustment to the duration of Focus Chant and Divine Favor
4. A list of all the Explorer areas so I can see at a glnace what has been done at each one.
5. BANKING ACROSS CHARACTERS!!!
6. Half-orcs
7. Druids
8. Ingredient conversion (similar to the relic conversion, but for Shroud ingredients)
9. Reaver's Refuge added to Teleport
10. Level cap increase to 20!!!

Hmmm... looks like Mod 9 should satisfy about 60% of my current needs. Not bad... :p

1:To go back in time and smack whoever thought it would be good to start promoting Vast and mysterious years before it would actually be released. It is starting to sound like that kid in High school that claimed he had a car even though no one ever saw it. People at first are like cool, but then everyone just starts to doubt its existence. This one simple thing has been the cause of a lot of poor player moral.

2:Completely solve performance issues. Not everyone is playing this game on 15 year old dinosaurs

3: Avoid integrating 4e as if it were the black plague

Fix lag I am seeing the Pit Fiend at half health while people are pulling loot from the chest.

I used to swing at a portal that went down for everyone else like 15 seconds before until I decided to just start following the pack when it moved.

I hate to say but if everyone is moving around fine, then that is client lag and not server lag

About me: I've been playing for a relatively long time but lack the time and the single-character focus to have any end-game characters. I love this game and think about it almost constantly. I'm sort of a wannabe power-gamer, except for the part where I have limited playtime and even more limited twitch skills.

My list (to be added to):

1. Fix lag. Honestly I would stop everything else until this is completely eradicated. This is so bad for game health that it's a testiment to the quality of everything else about DDO that the game is even still in existence. Many lesser games have been killed by similar issues.

2. Improve documentation and new player education. Instead of easy buttons that let you "succeed" when you have no clue what you're doing, let's come up with ways that new players can LEARN how to play the game. Back when I was a new player, I was completely shocked by the incredible lack of in-game resources to learn about game play. And I even had some clue about D&D, which not everyone does. Thank god I had a real-life friend to constantly pester with questions or I wouldn't have lasted past the first week.

Then, once you get some clue about the game, it's still maddening that the only places to get remotely reliable documentation about how things actually work is the forums and the DDO Wiki. At times, it feels like Turbine is scared to explain how a feature actually works, which I think is ludicrous and a bit condescending.

3. Add carefully thought out and properly costed respec mechanism. This is important, but it's also important to get it right. So I can wait a little if necessary.

4. More character slots. Don't really care if have to pay for this, but I don't want a separate account, which loses all progress. A lot of the fun of this game for me is experimenting with builds. Hate to delete anything that might have a chance.

5. Improve quest balance. As it stands now, the balance of the quests is FAR worse than the balance of the classes. Almost every class has decent representation in the game, but this is not at all true of quests. From about level 5 to about level 8, why would you run anything except Delera's? It has so much more XP per unit time than anything else around that level that it's still the fastest way to gain XP even after you hit about a 50% repeat penalty. This poor balance makes is seem like there is a lot less content than there is.

6. Improve relevance of THF and sword and board. These are the fundamental styles of D&D, but currently almost every build is better with TWF. Pre-Mod-9, sword and board is VERY narrow (i.e. only optimal for a tiny fraction of optimal builds), and I actually think it's even worse in Mod 9, because the PrEs that seem to help shields ALSO make it easier to acheive good AC without one! Why even own a Shield if you can get high TWF DPS and still hit 70 AC when you need to?

THF is a little different, because you can break the "intended" game mechanics with sufficient twitch skill (interrupting attack chain for faster attack rate), so that folks like Blacksteel and Shade can achieve huge DPS with THF. But for us uncoordinated mortals, it makes no sense to consider THF -- except, ironically, for some arcanes since they can't spare the feats for TWF!

7. Improve all UIs. Turbine could win some prizes for "How Not to Design a UI." The original auction house was right up there with the worst UIs ever created, and it's only marginally better now. It seems Mod 9 is bringing some much-needed easy-of-use features, and more would be welcome.

8. Add new high-end content. Personally I don't really need this, but I understand that the health of the community as a whole requires it, so it's on my list. Probably much lower than on most people's.

9. Improve communication with player base. Hey, I've seen worse, but there are a TON of people in this game who deeply care about it and who could truly help to make it better if they were asked for ideas at the right time, as opposed to just requesting feedback on sealed-and-delivered features.

10. Improve AI. I put this last on my list because I fear the payback to effort ratio is poor. In other words, it's going to take a ton of effort to make the AI a little better. And frankly a lot of people would go ballistic if our enemies suddenly realized to step out of a Wall of Fire when their flesh was being seered (possibly rendering that staple spell nearly useless). But in the end, I really do feel it would be a better game if the monsters weren't quite so dumb and/or buggy.

#1:
I would like them to add an actual game world to explor not just those smallish wilderness instances.

YES! Thank you! I agree completely, that's top on my list.

#2:Next on my list is that when I break a barrel/crate/etc, there should be NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER that the item will disappear into the wall or another static object.

#3: Another idea, and this may sound incredibly stupid:
Player-made quests. Like, an in-game construction set. You may be thinking that that's impossible, because then the makers could make it worth infinite EXP or put in way too much loot. However, I do have a solution for that. At the beginning, each player-made quest should be worth no EXP/no loot. At that stage, when any player completes this quest, they are then asked to rate it. If it gets a high enough rating in a specific time span (say, at the end of 1 month, it has an average rating of 7 out of 10), then it is submitted to Turbine for approval. If approved, Turbine can put in how much EXP/loot. Yes, I realize that even if this idea is accepted, it will probably take a long time to make it happen.

ADD:

#4: More skills. I don't know how many people will agree with me here, but there need to be more skills (which would go along with more content, hopefully). Some examples might be:
**Alchemy - Gathering ingredients from your surroundings and mixing them together into a potion. Mortar & pestle / albemic / other tools required, maybe.
**Crafting - Most people probably agree with me here, the Eldritch devices aren't working. We need something where you might gather, say, a wolf pelt when you kill a wolf, or a lion pelt, etc. and turn it into a fur coat, or maybe mine (another new skill) some metal and use a hammer & anvil to create s a sword or armor. I might even go so far as to suggest gathering sand (don't know where from) and turning it into glass, then getting leather and some metal for framing to make goggles.
**Mining - Hopefully would go along with the crafting skill. Pickaxe required, of course.
**Cooking? Just a thought. Gather some raw meat. Make a fire (another skill) and cook it. So simple, a kobold could do it.
I'm sure there are others, but those are the main ones I'd like to see.

#5: Better animations. I would prefer if it didn't look the same when I pick a lock as when I pull a lever.

#6: Something non-gameplay related:
A downloadable DDO construction set. Submit creations to Turbine. Turbine likes it? Good. No? Try again. This might include textures, models, voices, quests, maps, you name it.

#7: When iron defenders cover the ground in oil, it should appear right in front of them, not wherever the player happens to be standing. This just looks cheesy.

#8: The ability to loot bodies. I often find myself wondering, "Why can't I pick up this dead guy's sword?" Whenever I ask myself this, I have no answer to give myself. Please add this feature, so I can stop being mentally unstable.

#9: This may be a truly horrible idea, and honestly, I haven't thought it through very well, but for every kill we make, we should get EXP. i.e. I killed a kobold. +(2*(enemy's level)) EXP.

#10
A: Different "towns" and actual wilderness in between them. Not like Korthos Island or Tangleroot Gorge. I mean the stuff you might find in real life, only with DDO monsters in it. To get a feel for what I mean, take a look at the following games:
**Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided
**Dungeon Siege
**The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
B: Horses. Not just the animal, but the ability to ride them, and use a sword/bow & arrow on them. Useful for traversing the vast distance between towns.

1A) FIX THE LAAAAAGGGGGG!

1B) Implement game balance fixes with regards to weapon speeds and character enhancements. Can you think of any game other than DDO where rapiers and khopeshes are considered the best weapons?!? Some weapons are completely underpowered because of arbitrary animation decisions and this must be changed. Also, certain enhancements are far too powerful compared to the meagre amount of enhancement points required to get them.

2) Add new content. Seriously. Turbine might even think about adding contests devoted to user dungeon creation with the winners dungeons programmed into future mod updates.

3) Monster AI and gameplay updates. All the unlimited spellpoint spell spamming, ridiculous wall climbing, respawning with full hitpoints if led too far away from a certain point, being arbitrarily immune to weapons or spells garbage has to change.

4) Allow more appearance variety on creation and we're long overdue for some method of post-creation appearance changes too.

5) Allow more character slots (increases based on favor level maybe?).

6) Make the crafting system actually FUN and not a grindfest done only by diehards.

7) Update the mapping system. It is useless for many outdoor areas and multi-level dungeons.

8) Add Druids. We need another healing class ASAP.

9) Documentation updates. It's sad when a game relies on it's subscribers to write so much of its updated game documentation.

10) Help hirelings survivability with better AI and giving them level appropriate gear and hit points. Something is wrong when a hireling can't routinely survive a dungeon half their level on normal.

I'll add to this later, I hope, but my ultimate, all time fave thing I wish could be added?

1) Something to do when there's nothing to do. I would guess the closest thing would be professions. When there's nobody on and I just don't feel like another VoD, Shroud, etc., if I could go out into the wilderness areas and harvest some herbs, mine some adamantine, hew some sycamore twigs and go back to town and combine them into potions, gauntlets or wands (all the while elevating my skills and output product) and then go back to harvest some more... oh hey! there's a Kundarak Favour group forming! Guess I'lll come back to this later, my lowbie needs some bank space. Well, you get the idea.

Have allot of suggestions, but if I had to place 1 at the top=

Tier 3 PrCs for EVERY class and race (and do NOT make halflings etc. ONLY have a dragonmark heir PrC if you are giving dwarves and elves a class PrC as well).

I think every class needs tier 3 PrCs in mod 10, and perhaps each race have a "race specfic" class PrC as well. For example=

Dwarves= fighter PrC (stalwart defender announced)
Warforged= Barbarian PrC (WF juggernaut announced)
Elves= Ranger PrC (arcane archer allready in game)
Humans= Paladin PrC (not sure which)
Halflings= Rogue PrC (not sure which, rogue is obvious PrC choice)
Drow= Sorcerer or Wizard PrC (drow have always been magically enclined)

In addition each Dragon Marked race recieves Heir of Siberys PrC, but this counts as their racial PrC for balance.

As far as I know, there really isn't any other known city on Xen'Drik. But, there are encampments, small villages, etc and an enormous continent we could be exploring. It being more open like LOTRO would not take away from DDO being about Stormreach either since Stormreach would still be the center of everything.

And we have things that games like WoW and LOTRO don't have when it comes to traveling long distances, Teleport, Greater Teleport, Magical Items, spells and even enchantments that help increase speed. As well as those Airships. How about mounts to ride? So no one HAS to walk by foot if they do not wish to. But a bigger world would give us the options to actually....explore.

With the added bonus of maybe get the Fly spell put in just for open explorer areas....

Content variety across the board...don't care if the monsters are the same, fine with all the pre-existing scenery and props...just need more places to go. Full level range spread, say 3-20.

Much more frequent updates, even if that means just a few dungeons/adventures at a time - every month or two would be good. Most of these mini-update dungeons could have their entrances tacked on to existing explorer areas, without need for whole new ones.

Some explorer areas tacked on in mini-updates also...even if there is only one or two dungeon entrances off each one, having some areas to wander through will add to the variety. Some areas could have different level ranges in different sections of them...an area like the desert could have lvl 4-8 one one side and 7-12 on the other side, with a decent reason why the two don't mingle enough for the lower one to get wiped out...

More clothing varieties. Adapt NPC clothing, and RR it with no UMD work-around if you don't want to make it fit other races than what it was originally displayed on. Even if much of it has no magical properties (or generic random ones) it would still be nice to have. Again, no need to go crazy with it all at once...a few per mini-update would be great. Take the korthos rags, give 'em different textures and put a vendor in with a variety. Pants. You get my drift.

Staves with enough abilities to make them viable alternatives to dual-wielding sceptres. For that matter, books/talismans/shaman fetishes would be nice as variety hand-held items for the casters. I'm really sick of the dual-wielding look but it's the only way to go unless you intentionally make your caster weaker. Can clerics get holy symbols to carry as an alternative to scepters?

Summonables that are worth the effort of keeping the spell around. Honestly...MS3 is decent but MS1, 2, 4 are worthless spells. The troll and EE aren't bad at times.

Ability to selectively alter the voice chat volumes for individual party members. Over 3 years now and it's still way out of whack. For that matter, voice chat needs to be made more reasonable compared to other game sounds, rather than have to have everything else at 1% so voice is audible at all.

More raids, and not just high end stuff. 4th level, 6th level, 8th level...guilds shouldn't always have to do an end-game raid to get more than 6 people together. Could some normal dungeons have an additional difficulty setting for Raid, where the numbers of monsters (and the difficulties of encounters) be upped while keeping the standard terrain and loot tables? Stormcleave would feel more like a battlefield with 12 friendlies and three times the baddies, and there are a lot of other areas where it would make sense also.

Encounter zones where anyone in that zone is in the same instance, whether they're in your party or not. Marketplace is like this now, take that tech and apply it to an area like Cerulean Hills. (but it would have to be new, so as to build the balance in from the start) Have encounters respawn once everyone has left the vicinity for at least 5 minutes. This gives several small groups the chance to temporarily get together for a big encounter, but then go their separate ways once it's done. Put a few really nasty (for the level range) bosses in there that only a sizable group of PC's is likely to be able to defeat.

Guild bulletin board with far better functionality than the Guild social panel has now. Right in the game. Longer MotD area, make it so multiple messages can appear and any Officer can post them (so guild can organize multiple events/parties easier) and a small message area (one thread, messages in it expire after a week or two?) for guild members to leave notes to each other. It would make the game much more guild-friendly.

Real crafting. Consumables like wands, scrolls and potions first. Meaningful but not powerful, and easy enough to do that you don't have to be 16th level to make CLW pots...you should be able to make stuff that someone a few levels below you would find useful. The tangleroot collectibles are a pretty good example of the power level and difficulty of collecting for them, model the effectiveness/effort ratio off of that. Add to this a bit at a time using the mini-updates, so each month there are a dozen more things we can do with all the collectibles floating around the game. Don't make it so there are a hundred and one different things to keep track of, that's a turn-off.

Make the collectible stuff all go into fewer types of bags, at least for normal gathering. If we need to pick up a special bag for a turn-in like tapestries, make that something separate that doesn't have to be carried all the time. The system wouldn't be popular enough to be worth the effort to create it if we never had enough inventory space to hold all the bits and pieces.

Bump up the XP for a lot of the optional side stuff in quests, until it's enough to make people want to slow down and do them. Few will go out of their way for 100 extra XP, especially if it takes several minutes to get it.

The game needs more reasons to PUG, and fewer reasons for 6 soloists to group. Most dungeons shouldn't require a group, but there should be compelling reasons (extra side areas with loot?) to take additional people and the classes perceived as less desirable. For instance, more dungeons with side areas only a pure rogue (or at least, not a 1 level splash) could get the party to, or ones where a monk's unique movement could get them to, would help those classes see a greater welcome in PUGs. Add to this a reason for bards to be invited in many groups...not sure what, exactly, but there needs to be something. For bards to be in undead or construct quests, they almost need friends willing to put up with the "useless" guy and extra side areas they can open could help out. I know, I know...they're not really useless...but in PUGs, often if you're not perfect for the dungeon you're passed over and those three classes especially could use some PUG love.

Builds dedicated to tanking (S&B Fighters and Paladins) need to be able to take and hold aggro better, despite not putting out the damage like other classes can. Maybe make shields add to the aggro they generate, or give shields a clicky-like ability that generates an aggro-drawing burst (without generating actual damage) to help those builds be more useful? As it is, unless the dungeon has a nice choke point most groups would rather DPS through than try to make their tank useful, and Intimidate...well... there needs to be another option. Either the shield does it as a clicky or an enhancement that requires a shield to be equipped...perhaps a line of enhancements, the higher the enhancement level the more aggro it pulls...not sure. But something needs to be done to help tanks be tanks.

Open, forthright communication between the company and the community. Tell us what's wrong and why you can't just fix it right away. Listen to the more reasonable voices and even if you don't like their suggestions, offer dialogue on why and welcome community brainstorming on how to resolve the imbalances and issues. Be brutally honest when something isn't going the way you want...we don't expect perfection but we'll be a lot more compassionate if we know you're not just stringing us along. Embrace the community as it is a part of your game, not simply consuming it.

I would say that beside more content and less lag.

1. The best thing that could happen to DDO I think is for turbine to rent the best server possible kinda like the ones the WOW are using and merge all the servers together as long as a super server was lag free or at the very least less laggy then the lag we have now. Probably the worst part about this game besides lack of content and lag is not being able to play it due to not being able to find a group when ever you want no matter what time of day.
