It's been three wonderful years, and the DDO community has been hard at work making fan videos to show their DDO pride! We received a lot of great nominations for this Anniversary video spotlight, but ultimately one video stood out as a classic! We're pleased to recognize Theuf (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=36181)'s video DDO's Cry, which received acclaim from both Turbine staff and fellow players! Click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwyUH3f5rjo) to see this great video!
A special thanks to our runners up: Kalanth (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=8672), Zoetic (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=245906), and Deathseeker (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=19643)!

Yes, it is nice to no longer be just a founder. Now I am a dragonmarked poster! Rawr!
Gratz Theuf, well done.
I would like to take this opportunity to be a sore looser! :p

Vivanto found a work around for that. Something to do with this link (http://unblockyoutubeproxy.net/search.php?u=Oi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tL3dhdGNoP3Y9Z nd5VUgzZjVyam8).

Congrats, I guess. The next time I make a video I guess I won't bother with the time it takes to capture good ORIGINAL footage of my own. I'll just use 3 year old turbine footage and maybe my work will get some notice......
Am I sore loser? Maybe, but it kills me that (correct me if I'm wrong) 3 of the videos weren't even created for the "Anniversary" contest that got "nominated" by the Turbine Staff. Not to mention the Huge amount of Turbine footage that was used in them. Is it any wonder that they were the ones that the staff picked for the final showdown?
I've got a great idea for your next spotlight contest. You can have a DDO audio contest and nominate ask the dev clips from past ddocast recordings as 75% of the finalists. Then for the final 25% you can pick some .pdf file that types itself across the screen and run them against that. Thats my 2 cents. Congrats again Theuf, I think.

Just to be picky...2 of the video's had some content from previous Turbine videos, but had original footage mixed in. 1 video had all original footage. 1 was a slide show, and had no video at all. So I think your case is a little over-exaggerated.
I guess we could debate whether using Turbine video was "original" or not, but it was within the rules, and your post somewhat minimizes the amount of original video that was in those 2 that did use it, and implies that the other video used it when it did not (I doubt you were suggesting the slide show was Turbine's video).
As far as which were created for the anniversary itself, I can only attest to "Why We Love DDO" being specifically created for the anniversary. I don't know about the others.
Just trying to clarify somewhat...
Pretty kicking vidoe it would look a lot better as a tv ad.

Mine was created about a month or two prior, and it took until week 3 when there were just not enough entrants (I assume) for my video to make it into the contest. I am glad I didn't win because I was spotlighted once before with that video and it would be truly unfair if I pulled it off twice (as I see it).
As for what was made for the contest, I know that the Slide Show and Why We Love DDO (which was my favorite) were made for it, while the winner came out a short time prior, but I am not complaining because they were all entertaining videos.

I have no idea how you managed to capture so many great video clips but the editing was amazing. Even my friends that don't play this game were impressed.
And I was doubly please that a fellow Canuck won a DDO contest. :D

Congrats Thuef!!
Thanks for including footage that lets us finally see what happened to the tent in the marketplace. We were the unfortunate ones that were stuck in the HORRIBLE lag fighting and were frozen when the event happened. BTW, how did you get the aerial footage and flybys?

Commercials? I didn't even know the game was advertised. :D Are there any more "hidden" cinemas like this?

Here is a link to a bunch of them on IGN. Thats usually where I go to get the DDO videos (on the rare chance they release them - *hint hint, nudge nudge*)

Thanks a lot for all the cool comments, I have to say right away, that Kalanth really gave me inspiration to make that video, and yes i took some of the scenematics of the game, about 40% is ingame playing. I did that video 1 week before they announced the contest, so i had to really work hard to finish it in time. So yes its all about Ddo 3 years of gaming they offered to us.
Now, for those who thought it wasnt enough of online gaming, and real footage.. well i got something for you now, Nothing big, but still fun to watch. http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?ref=mb#/video/video.php?v=78100879916
Ill have my other winning Video posted on some other websites in the next weeks, for those who couldnt get to see it.
Thanks again everyone, ill be working hard this summer to get something new to show about Mod 9 and lvl 20. But cant release anything before DDo release 1st the mod 9.. ;) im not that evil you know heheeh..
Have some good looting.

Hey This Video deserves a lot more views!
Especially now that DDO will become Free it can be an amazing piece to advertise the game. How can we make this video be more watched? Videos like these are a far better way to show the beauty of the game than just saying it has amazing graphics. This should be on the DDO video section on the main page. So that people who want to know more about the game can just watch these and get psyched to play it. That section should have a lot more videos showing of several things like character creation, combat sistem, classes, raids, quests, explorer areas and all the good stuff.
Bug report: Is it just on my Firefox that the embed thing is screwing up the link to watch the official videos from the main page?
