So, I’ve been going through the release notes, and I’m not finding anything on Monk finishing moves affecting combat stances. I do know that right now, use of a finishing move will pull you out of Combat Expertise. I recall seeing something a while back saying that this would be corrected in Mod 9, but I can’t find the thread anymore. Would it be possible to get a dev response on this? Will this be corrected in Mod 9, or will the use of a finishing move still pull you out of a combat stance?

using a monk finishing move ie a combat move should not take you out of Combat Expertise. However, it seems to be coded like a spell and would require them to change it and re-code it. I doubt that the "forgotten" monk class will get that move lovin. I sure hope that they do because it is ********, so guess we will see, but would also like to know the official word on this.

Why would a Monk use Combat Expertise? They have a hard enough time landing a hit anyway, unless they have weapon finesse, and even then they can only get Improved TWF without CE(Unless you get rid of Stunning Fist too)... with CE you might as well forget trying to attack anything, as your feats won't back up your DPS(not enough room for them all), and your -to hit from CE and whatever else will be too harsh to really do any good...
If you are using CE, I hope your Monk is a Splash.
Oh, and due to combat with a Monk (http://is.gd/k2Lp), Spring Attack is a must.

My monk does quite well, actually. You play your monk your way, I'll play my monk my way...
I agree about Spring Attack, though. IMO, its a must for any hand to hand character...

I was also surprised that I came out of CE when I used a finishing move. It's kind of distressing since CE (and another stance affected by spells, Resilience) are considered the monk special feats that you can choose from.
I am also curious about whether or not this will be addressed in Mod 9. As it stands, those two feats are incompatible with being a full-featured monk.
Any word from the devs? Will monks be able to use finishing moves and remain in CE (or Resilience) stance?
Thanks to anyone who can even drop a yes or no!
