Or is their system a CPU control system?
I know, I can google it.
EDIT: Cool, a developer responded down below to this question.

Not sure if its organic or not but wf brains are quite unpalatable to mindflayers, they tend to vomit after sucking out wf brains.

" If I only had a brain!"
I think I need the great and powerfull Oz.
I also think in ebberon the wf were moderately sentient and then became individuals on their own. Maybe like the machines in the terminator:) I didnt google it but from the quest story lines thats what ive gathered.
As for a squishy brain im almost positive they do not have one.

We had a lively discussion while originally making the mind flayer about this.
"Do Warforged have brains?"
Our eventual conclusion was "since it doesn't say they don't, they must", but felt we had to add that little something afterwards anyway.

From what I remember concerning the origin of the warforged, they are "Created by Magic's Art" so to speak, and their brains are basically comprised of what a large portion of the rest of them is comprised of, which is Livewood. (of House Phiarlan theatre fame.) And then there was the intervention of the Lord of Blades somehow, which caused the WF to remain constructs, but truly living constructs, with free will and full autonomy.

Warforged evolved into sentience on their own, the Lord of Blades is just a wf supremist who continues to make new wf.

Thats all nice and seems very accurate, but I've been told they have a dependency on network interconnectivity among all WF and at the very core behind the Green curtain and a sound enhanced booming voice is none other than............. Bran. :D

Hey as soon as mass Camo wears off and your head disappears you will see that a WF has nothing in his head :D

one of the great things about the eberron setting is that it intentionally leaves a lot of questions unanswered (and thus up to the DM). One of these questions is who/what the Lord of Blades is, and if it exists at all (it might just be a concept). What is certain is that WF are sentient after emerging from the forge.
i suggest you check these out:

Warforged sentience did not happen by design. It was neither giving them or copying organic brains, nor some convoluted story about The Lord of Blades interfering to give them "free will and full autonomy". The Lord of Blades himself is just a plain ol' warforged, created after sentience was already imbued into the creation process. Seems some players got a little confused by what the devs meant with that line of faith.
From Wizards:
Warforged sentience developed as a side effect of their creators' desire to have fully functional, adaptive battle-field units.
In other words an accident. A side effect wrapped in the vast mysteries of magic.
The livewood fibres that bind the stone and steel that make up a warforged are not muscle. They are moved by magic just like any other golem. Their thought processes are, also like other golems, part of the magic enchantments that animate them, not some kind of pseudo-neuron bundle built into their frame.

I saw my head go missing once, but this was a totally new one to me. Do I have extra brains too?

in other words, we should SOOOOO be immune to mindflayer extracting our "brains" right? :D:D:D:D

WF are repositories for actual spirits, not just AI. Read some of Keith Baker's stuff and you'll get an idea. House Cannith didn't actually invent warforged, they are merely the modern producers of them.

Since the minds of fleshies appears to be a manifestation of their brains, this leads to great confusion. Actually brains are the manifestation of minds. There is no such physical artifact within the physical warforged. The warforged are sentient with fully developed minds, but without a localized physical nexus.
