With my ingredients bag bulging and the crafting itch biting me hard again, I'm looking at making another dual-shard rapier. I'm making an offhander to go with either my RadII or my MinII. The MinII partner is obvious: Make another MinII. But an off-hander for the RadII isn't as easy a decision to make. I'm thinking about Lighting II, Triple Pos (easy peasy to make), or just using my MinII.

But a friend recently recommended a second RadII. The 4d6 light damage on crit combined with doubling my chance to blind a mob makes this a feasible option. But when I threw it in the planner, I discovered another benefit. I can add +2 Exceptional Int for my Tier 3 upgrade. Sweet! In addition to great DPS, and doubling my blindness chance, I add one to my assassinate DC. We have a winner!

Anyone else out there using dual RadII's and how do you like them? I may make a second one on my next Shroud but I probably won't use it until I get Tharne's Goggles (I love using a +5/+8 backstabber in my off hand) but I think that those three items combined may be the best non-red named DPS for a rogue in the game.

I built these for my rogue with the intent of playing with the assassin line. Main hand being all dmg and off-hand being int with good burst. Absolutly love the combination. I have tharnes goggles as well but they are useful regardless of the weapon your wielding.

I've been running the numbers on this and cannot find a negative.

Dual RadII DPS is very strong. It's not quite as good as a Lightning II straight up but when I add in the doubled chance at blindness, it's stronger. I'm still considering Lightning II just for the coolness factor but I can't think of an argument against dual RadII's for a pure rogue.

You'll notice a big difference with a second Rad2. Much quicker blindness and dps is really nice... before blindness, and obviously after blindness.

So Mort how about a weakening of puncturing rapier and raidiance 2 rapier vs. two radiance 2 rapiers.. Which one wins on trash mobs for a rogue with crippling strike?

My str based rogue actually uses a rad II kukri in his off hand, rad II khopesh in main hand. (Yes I know, scimi would be better for blindness, but I like big first numbers). For trash mobs, the dps is insane. I can easily hang with tempest and fighter twf builds as far as dps goes. Honestly though, dual w/p's still win out on trash mob dps though.

I typically run with a radience II rapier in my main hand and a wounding of puncturing short short in my off hand. Hard to believe that a second radience would be able to out perform. Now, I agree, not everyone has WoP, but things die incrediblly fast.

I'd recommend holding your ingredients until mod 9 comes just to see if there isn't something else that might be better suited to the new content.
