Looking to trade or sell this rapier if I get an acceptable offer. Some of the things I'm looking for are as follows:

docent of defiance
necro tome pages (1, 2, 6, 7) as they appear on in Tome: Binding
large ingredients (mainly scales and stones)

prob wants unheard of amount of stuff....

Two problems with this atm....

1.Any player with enough to buy it knows of the nerf talk....and is unwilling to invest that much atm.

2. Many players realize that we will be havin an increase in 4 lvls of loot soon...so again people are only spending cash on what they consider "deals"

on that note ill give ya 8 scales,4 stines for it.....lol...I know dream on!!

It is an Awesome item. If it were mine I wouldn't get rid of it and if I were to get rid of it I would want unheard of amounts of stuff for it too :D

hmm, lets see Roman your 1st offer was 10 large scales, in which I perceived as you trying to pull a scam because you and I both know what its actually really worth and it wasn't a few weeks ago that I was interested in purchasing your +1 w/p rapier that you had for trade in which you wanted a minimum on 100 larges.
Wow thats rather odd that you were asking no less than 100 larges for +1 but were offering me 10 larges scales for a +4 hmm. Really though its none of your business but I have only bumped a handful of times and mostly as a joke to climb above a couple buddies threads and like I've stated earlier I've had and am still having PM's with offers sent to me and out of curiosity I have am responding the proper way by stating that the current PM's have been replied too. If you would like to send an offer and not try to make yourself look stupid please send another PM and thank you.

For stating the obvious man. Someone wondered why like 10 bump for an awsome item and no sale. So I offered my opinion. It was not whining at all....I am sorry you may be upset that I may have stated what some may not have thought already. Maybe its time to chill bro:) Its a good pull atm. Most likely will still be good in the new mod. Just offering some food for thought in response to an inquiry.

I never know what these items are worth, so I almost never send PMs. I sometimes people would make public the offers they are rejecting or near-accepting - if it was something that I considered reasonable I might be willing to beat the offer... right now I have absolutely NO IDEA what this item is worth... so I just don't send PMs...

Pretty much the same thing for me on big-name items - it's hard to know what someone's going to want/value, so usually it's just not worth the bother. Plus the thought of W/P being nerfed makes me ALMOST as happy as the thought of them nerfing monk splashes, so it'd be a bit odd for me to be trying to trade for one. Guess that makes this free bump #7ish.

Edit: for example, you list a few things you might be interested in, but your latest post seems to indicate you wouldn't consider any trade that doesn't include the docent or tome pages. You may hear about some W/P rapiers that sell for 100 Larges or whatever, but then you hear about people like Sergod selling his for 24, and that's a pretty big gap in value. I think the fairest one I can recall hearing about was Cash trading one for a cleansed helmet...about as clear as a transaction can get really.

10 Large scales has a street value of approx 3mil pp. Personally I think the time value of farming 10 large scales is worth even more to me. At the rate I have been pulling them it would take me nearly 3 months to farm that many. Hardly an insulting offer considering the uncertaintly of value of w/p. A complete necro tome set isn't exactly common either. Buying individual pages on AH you could easily spend 2.5 - 3 million pp. And again the time value of farming those pages is hideously unattractive.

I know what the value of w/p was in Mod 8, but I have no clue what they will be worth in Mod 9. And Mod 9 content is what matters to me personally becuase I spend 99% of my time running end game content. I recall when paralyzers where the shizzle when gianthold was fresh and new, but now they are vendor trash. Buying a w/p weapon right now is a gamble. The rumors may be an elaborate hoax or they may be true. I have no idea, but rumors aside, I must confess that it seems a bit illogical to me that a lvl 10 item will continue to reign supreme at level 20.

When I trade I consider two things to be important.

Time Value
Future Value


Time value is the amount of time I must spend to replace the resources I am spending or to acquire the resources I am buying. Obviously I try to spend with resources that I can replace faster than the the time I would need to spend to get the item I am trying to buy.

Future value is what I think the item will be worth in the future. Future value is always negetively impacted right before mods which is a great time to invest in speculative buys.

So no my offers were not meant to be insulting or tricky, they were simply based on my personal evaluation of Time Value and Future Value. Hope that clears things up a bit.

I'll hang on to the rapier and continue to duel-wield w/p rapiers and enjoy playing DDO. No hard feelings towards anyone who posted and to everyone who sent in an offer thank you for the responses and maybe after mod 9 comes out and it is revealed that this "Nerf" talk is just another rumor brought forth from the forum gods I'll maybe re-post it again to give someone the opportunity to acquire one. To Roman and others the trade lines are re-opened for business and just be aware that these post were just frustration talking so everyone check out my other thread please :)
