so KHYBER or THELANIS?

Well I want to try a new build but i am out of space on Sarlona. I want to keep what I have until level cap increase settles. I love Sarlona and my guild, so this isn't a grass is greener thing.

The khyber folks here on the forums seem to be very intent yet open and helpful. The Thelanis crows seems a bit more free wheeling and fun.

So I like to have fun with runs jokes funny voice what ever over voice chat ( Our guild did a run with cyndi lauper Girls just wanna have fun playing in the background) Practical jokes (telling a newbish WF to get the docent at the end of POP ) Yet I hate wasting resources if a group just can't get it together for a particular run.

I enjoy workman like runs (not serging) hitting side quest Maxxing out XP, getting all loot, without taking two hours to run Storm Cleave.

So which server is a better fit?

I play on both and you can find what you want on either server but remember khyber is total drama island:D I would say pop on both and see which has a good pop at your playing times.

Ive capped mulitiple toons on Sarlona, so have a feel for your home server. Your not goign to like this, but in my opinion both Khyber and Thelanis are light years better servers.........from average game play, to party communicating, to general quality of playerbase. Im sure there are very good circles of players on Sarlona, I just didnt have the pleasure of bumping into them often............I am guessing that after a coin flip between Thelanis and Khyber you are going to never look back. You will totaly convert your play to the new and better server. I know this is harsh, but I would recommend to any poor souls stuck on Sarlona to try another server, you will be amazed. Sorry to any Sarlona'ans I have offended, but stand behind my comments.

If it's between Khyber and Thelanis I say Thelanis. Never played there but you will find a lot of Zerging on Khyber. However you might consider Argo as well. Good players. Lots of teamwork and fun yet you get it done.

You sound like a solid player, so you should choose Khyber. Thelanis is already filled with exceptional players, and I hear Khyber is in much more desperate need of the help. ;)

Obviously, Thelanis also has the most humble players as well.

Supposedly Thelonis has a lot of zerging uber minded players who don't do so hot with team play but I have not played there so I do not know, just something someone I trust told me.
This is advice that I take seriously since this friend is very experienced and has been around for a long time.
What I do know is we NOW play on Argo and the people are amazing. Friendly and ready to roll. We have a lot of fun together and still manage to get the job done.

I started up and transferred a level 8 to Thelanis if that helps. Trying hard to ignore the knock of our server considering that player must not have run with the nice folks who keep Sarlona my main server.

But if you do try on Thelanis foe look me up sometimes Im running my cleric or mages on there to :)

I too would suggest Khyber. Being a native Sarlonian, I am in the process of migrating one of my characters to Kyhber to see how brown the grass is over there.

I rolled up a lowbie this weekend and managed to get him to lvl 7. Hopefully by the time MOD 9 drops I will have my "lowbie" Sarlona character moved over so I can equip him and have 2 happy campers.

IMHO, the zerg on Kyber is NOT what it is on Sarlona, but I guess that all depends on who you run with.

TBH, I did not see 1 iota of the "much heralded" Khyber Drama this weekend. I suspect that it may come into its own once you reach the higher end Raids. I was saddened to not witness any of it first hand though....god knows I tried to instigate some.:rolleyes:

I disagree Ihave found that ghallanda thelanis and khyber to be very friendly for my part and not so much on sarlona or agro the fourms might be different but in game those 3 I have always found fun and friendly people, this might be realted to my play times but that my experience

This also means there are more Zergers.

On the other hand, like Sarlona, it's the best role-playing and events server around. Truly a bunch of dedicated people to demand RP Thursdays and have "important" events like beach parties, fashion shows and lots of things involving nekid will pop up.


Now, on to Kyber where i went when both Sarlona and Thelanis went server crashing.

While the Drama is noticed, I've seen some of the MOST NICE people and guilds EVER on that server. People shoving candy canes and items into my new PC before I could say "what?" People asking if I was new just to HELP me and donate items. The Qwijy bulk buying and their Friday Night Fights. Hilarious guilds like the SR Theives' Guild and the Short Bus Ninjas (Short Bus as in DEDEDE, not Dwarf/halfling.)

Sometimes i just LAUGH at things said to one another in public.

And that Theives' Guild, always somebody on, hustling up groups and raids and debating silly enhancement suggestions. Almost no rules but don't be a d***.

So, Give Kyber a try. If it doesn't work for you, hop on over to Thelanis.

They all know me now, alas :)

My personal experiance.... it is a tough call.

I've found it easier to have the fun casual gaming groups on Thelanis.
I prefer the Khyber zergers though, Many of the top players on Thelanis tend to be ultra uber power zergers who lack patiance. Khyber zergers do tend on average to be a bit more "helpful" in trying to explain some things as they rush through. On the flip side......Khyber tends to have a higher percentage of zergers, Thelanis tends to have the more laid back and casual approach once you're past the uber crowd, and the zergers are a smaller percentage. While you didn't ask, I will through my thoughts on the other 2.... Ghallanda is a good server with experianced and helpful players, but I've found that it is hard for a new player to get involved as they tend to stick with people they know, and Argonnessen I would put up near the top. Found a many LFM's clear on party design and intent, and the slow groups tend to have helpful players........

All in all, I would say go with Thelanis.........second choice would be Argo.

I again repeat that this is just based on my personal experiences........I may just be playing at poor times for the different servers in finding the style I like.....

I'm sure you would be happy with whatever choice you make.

Thelanis does tend to suffer a bit more lag issues.......

Khyber (I love helpin new players and their new alts out through questing, so if you get on Khyber send one of my alts a tell) might be zergers here on Khyber but they exist in every MMO. There are some very good players on all the servers and each are friendly.

Well as a regular Riedra resident ... Khyber has been a good home. I have fun most of the time and the vast majority of players make for good runs no matter your style. You won't go wrong. If you want drama, you'll get it in the right guilds with the right runs.

Is it possible that you played Barebones on Khyber? That could explain the dwarf and also why you seem familiar.

Dont know about that dont really care for those jelly filled chocolates or chocolate covered espresso beans, but I guess one just could eat the chocolate off the filling and toss that part.
