I chose the Tempest path.. and I am trying to put in my level 1 spell, and getting a "Your ability score is too low" message when I try to put the spell in the slot. I am at level 5 with 27 spell points. What gives?

equip a +1 wisdome item and you will be fine. Your wisdome has to be 14 to cast lvl 4 spells. So a +4 wisdom item will allow you to cast all the ranger spells long term.

You need a wisdom score of atleast 11 to cast spells for a ranger. This can be done if you are wearing a +1 wisdom item or greater.

Wisdom is your problem. I cant remember exact numbers, but you need somewhere between 11-14 to cast spells

Darn, ya'll are quick lol

ok I will give it a try, thank you so much for the help :) You would think using a pre-rolled character that Turbine would account for that.

That's actually a really good point... Or at least make it clearer about the wisdom needed to cast. I gimped my rgrs wisdom, too and even ate a +2 tome as soon as I got off Korthos. Now I'm doomed to wearing a wisdom item forever...

In my experience it is best to start off with a 12 wisdom. That way, when your character levels up, and you get a +2 wisdom tome, you will no longer need an item to cast.

its not a stretch to wear a wis item most of the time, just for the will save boost. a lil extra sp as well. you can swap it out if u need to.

Yes but when you get to high level you run out of slots and having every extra slot matters if you want to get mulitple gs items, all the immunities, etc.(sorry have to run will elaborate more later)

Yeah, but extensial stalemate ( which gives +6 Wis ) is only a tier 2 effect, and absurdly easy to work into any immunity/HP item that you'd want to build anyway.
