View Full Version : 3rd anniversary....did I miss something?

I just saw a thread today asking for videos to celebrate the 3rd anniversary event. What event? Did I miss something? Was a bonus xp weekend the event? Don't want to sound like a whiner, but that is EXTREMELY minimal effort isn't it? The bonus xp mechanic was allready in place. All Turbine had to do was turn it on and set the controlls to 50%. Was there a live event I missed? Even an instanced live event using the heralded and hardly EVER used live event theater? Was there some sort of Turbine hosted in game party or give away? A giant floating birthday cake over the harbor? Some skywriting? A free commerative piece of in-game loot? A new mini-quest? A new spell? Perhaps a players vs devs pvp event in the lobster?

I assume some of these things must have happened , and that I just missed them.

Some hams dropped somewhere.

Also, Turbine finally broke their wall of silence and gave us a rather minimal and very overdue preview of mod 9, then quickly clammed back up.

They are all busy working on Book 7 for LOTRO.

What did you miss? The extraordinarily crippling lag that's always created when they do something more. I think keeping to the minimalized "ham lag" was thier gift to us ;)

No you did not miss anything at all. Turbine is looking for videos made by the community over the past three years to help celebrate the 3rd Anniversary. Too Bad they didn't do anything spectacular to mark the event themselves, but my guess is that will actually happen when MOD 9 goes live.

they raised XP 50% and I think loot +1. They made it rain hams. This week's XP is 10% that's it.

The biggest event I got that weekend had notning to do with the game, but with the loss of a close family friend and some extended family :(

The big event was +50% XP, ham sandwiches raining and massive party wipes in part 4 of shroud due to named lag.

Watched it happen. Several locations, Marketplace and the desert refuge. It was pretty cool. They could have done it a bit more frequently, but it did occur.

Yeah i had one lag storm the entire weekend of 2 minutes.

The big event is that DDO has been around for THREE years.
Apparently Mod 9 isn't ready yet, but will be out soon (whatever that means). I can wait, np.

Whine and Ham for all!
