Anniversary Video Spotlight!

We're always impressed by the amount of dedication and talent shown by our players, and user-created videos are just one more way you've found to wow us. This time, we're looking to spotlight a video that celebrates the DDO 3rd Anniversary! But with so many great video makers out there, we can't do it alone, so we'll need the help of the community!

Each week beginning Monday, March 2nd through March 23rd we'll be looking for nominations of DDO videos to spotlight in the Video Spotlight Nominations threads! We'll select a video each week as a candidate. Then in the final week, we'll face these videos off and let the community vote on which is their favorite DDO Anniversary video!

To nominate a video, post the link to the video in our nomination threads starting Monday, and we'll check it out (don't forget to include the credits)! We'll select our favorites each week, and in a final vote, the Community will help us to select which video to spotlight on DDO.com!

Entrants are encouraged to upload their videos to the DDO page on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dungeons-Dragons-Online/22694160991) and share them with other DDO fans! Although videos hosted on YouTube or Google Video are also welcome, videos on Facebook will receive priority consideration.

We can't wait to see the great DDO Anniversary videos from our fans!

I've thought about it now and again, but lately time has been my enemy. But maybe one day I can get around to doing another one. In the meantime, I like to live through you all since there are so many good video makers among the community :D *pokes the nomination thread longingly*

I hate to say it, but you probably can't. Or at least you can win nothing at all really. Normally contests have an explicit statement where upon employees of said company are ineligible for participation.

HOWEVER, given the nature of it, I feel that the videos should be part of it, if for the history of the game at the very least even if you can't win anything.

Oh I definitely wouldn't let any of them be in the community voting rounds for sure, there's no question about that. Ultimately it's fun to reflect back on them anyway - a lot of players helped to make those :) and it's fun to see them in their cameo appearances.

Also have seen some confusion about what sort of "theme" the video can be for spotlight nomination. It can be anything that makes you think about the awesome times you've had in DDO over the past 3 years!

Tolero's videos are a key part of DDO's history, in my opinion. I'm sure they motivated many a video maker to get started, besides offering all sorts of good laughs for the community. They should totally be placed in the Facebook celebration!

And I think Clankenbeard and Lessah will need their own category! Speaking of which, when's the next video!?!?!?

Well, I did put up one of my old ones, but if I did something it would have to be new. :) Not sure I have the time though.

I have tried three times now to upload my video onto the DDO Facebook page. It is really starting to irritate me. Twice the video ended up on MY facebook page. grrrrrrrrr

Maybe more frequent content releases would be a great way to repay the dedication shown by the subscribers. Eventually, even the most dedicated will reach the final straw.
