This is not meant to start a flame war its just an observation I've made.
This idea of the forgotten rose got started in another thread when I noticed a comment someone made about wanting to "get to 20 ASAP." My question was "why?"
So many people complain that there is nothing to do at cap. They want more content more to do. They want mod 9 as of yesterday. They want the bonus XP to be after mod 9 goes live so they can "get to 20 ASAP." I say why? So that they have a reason to complain again? Well perhaps instead of rushing to get to level 20 ASAP like its some NASCAR race, stop... smell the forgotten rose. Enjoy the way up. Savor it. Perhaps then the wait time for the next mod won't seem so long. Perhaps the complainst won't be so often or so vocal. Rushing to cap whether it be from current 16 capped toons to 20 capped toons or starting over from level 1 means skipping a lot of content to get there. To then what?---- Limit yourself to 10% of the total content of the game. That makes no sense.
So I say find the rose. Stop to smell it. When mod 9 hits take your time getting to level 20. Enjoy the new content. Don't fly thru it just to get to 20. It seems so many people are in a hurry to get to cap they forget all the good stuff along the way.
I reiterate this is an observation I have made and the comments that stem from it. If you disagree fine but keep it civil I am not intending to start a flame fest. I wanted to point out that so many people are in such a hurry that they miss a lot.

This occurs to me almost daily browsing here.
I'm not even sure why +50% experience is so amazing. Leveling up is a fun part of the game for me. I enjoy it. Of course you can say "I've done it all before", but you've run the Shroud with that same guy 50X before too.
..
But.
It's not for me to say how others should enjoy the game.

the majority of players who want new content thoroughly explore and experience all of the content in the game. The endgame content simply offers the most beneficial challange. Why grind out the boring, low incentive content?

True. I think the key phrase is "low incentive". The content is no less boring (IMO). Getting phat lewtz is that nice, addictive feedback mechanism.
But I do agree with original poster here that, just about always you're going to find yourself at the end game with great stuff. Even if you just play casually. You'll wind up there. So, blowing through all new content in a week and then clamoring for more content just seems less enjoyable to me personally.
But again, it's not for me to say how others should enjoy your game. If you've gotta beat stuff fast and that's what you find fun, then enjoy yourself.

This time around the Navy has other plans for me... :(
But generally my attitude is to rush my main up to cap, and take my time with other chars. Best of bot worlds IMO.
But yeah, after cap not much to do, and I quickly feel like questing is useless.
Loot, collectibles....favor....but once you have a good chunk of it...not much to do.
Once capped I tend to log on...look at LFMs and see if someone is running one of the few quests for favor I need.....then log a lowbie.

Two reasons to levle up quickly:
Seeing your toon grow is fun and you always look forward to more power.
You miss your friends and guildies who are playing their higher level toons.
With that said, I really enjoy leveling up. I enjoy some of the lower level quests most than any high level content. If given the choice, I think I'd stick in Gianthold where the trash mobs do not have 1,000,000 HP and where there was incentive to run non-raids...
However, the two reasons stated above makes it fun for me to have a +50% XP bonus.

You can level up quickly and still enjoy everything. You can level up quickly and bypass everything as well. However, to take option two and then complain theere isn't enought to do is where I run into problems. It was your choice to level quickly. Fine you made it....now live with it. That is my point as well.
On a side note Borro love all the Paladin stuff you;ve done and the insights you've given....still waiting on your comments on my twf halfling paladin/monk. But I digress.

Maybe it is partially our fault, but I would say that if Turbine created a way to delevel our guys temporarily...
Honestly, it is not "our fault" if we get bored. It's Turbine's problem that we are bored.

Yes and no. There are problems I will never agrue that there are not. Just putting out a different perspective to look at things from. Again we all have the same thing at heart, I believe, which is to see this game succeed. Sometime I feel that everyone, including myself, its to much of a damned hurry and things get forgotten and left behind that shouldn't. Hell it's probably just my commentary on my own hectic life.....LOL!

Well, it's in Turbine interest to not waste money on content we're going to skip.
Favor was their attempt at reusing their content. Main problem is that it's utterly boring. Maybe that if they allow us to delevel and restrict us to enter a quest if within a certain level range (ie to keep the quest a challenge) then maybe it'd be more successful. Just sayin'.

No, a lot of us took our time leveling. 3 years ago.
Now we're just tired of it and want it over as quickly as possible.
There may be repetition in running end game raids, but I'll take that over the repetition of running the Harbor for the gazillionth time any day.

I like lowby quests up to around lvl 7 or 8, at that point it is boring the lvl8-11 quests are not very well balanced in DDO, or they do not give enough exp or loot rewards. This is the toughest section to get through for most people. And there is no way around this, maybe if they upped the exp. By no means do I want more content for that level range

This illuminates a game design shortcoming. DDO should include a feature to voluntarily and temporarily (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Level_Sync) reduce your own level (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Sidekick#Exemplar.2FMalefactor), so you can go back to quest content you've bypassed before.
It is not fun for players to be faced with a choice between not going to some quests today, and permanently being locked out of some quests forever. That is doubly true considering that the devs have often added new content that was already below the level of existing characters.
PS. Yes, I'm well aware that multiple technical and design obstacles would make it difficult to create such a feature. Just because something is difficult doesn't mean it's not worthwhile.
PPS. Yes, it is true that high-level characters are technically allowed to enter and complete low-level quests. But because their power is beyond what the quest was designed for, they're not really playing it with anything like the challenge inserted by the developers.
