Noticed that a lot of people (especially the jaded uber gamers) find that turbine did not throw enough of a birthday celebration for all. Well ... JFK did say, ask not what stormreach can do for you, but what you can do for stormreach.
We learn a lot of things about the US. some good. some bad. but overall, the values that you guys stand for are admirable.
So for all the work that turbine has done, and for all the hours of joy that Stormreach has brought, I am gonna run this quick contest for everybody so we can have a good and happy birthday, while the devs do what they need to do.
Notice that +1 loot means nothing to you guys except for +2/3 tomes or wops.
So the prize for this contest is :
1st prize: +1 wop heavy repeater. level 10. no RR.
2nd prize: 10k plat (will update as more donations come in)
When: (singapore time) Sunday 1st March 9am starting. (you guys figure out what time that is for you wherever you are in the world) roughly NYC is exactly 12 hours behind us. which means it should be 28th Feb night for people in the US.
The game: Find my toon. I will be in one of the following possible public areas. korthos, harbour, market, House P, D, J, K ... this includes taverns, delera's graveyard, necropolis etc.. ANY PLACE the public can go.
Who can play: I am hoping everybody interested whether you are new or not. I understand guilds have an advantage in this game, but I fashioned the rules so that there are minimal exploits. So new people... its your birthday party too..
Duration: One hour. Singapore time 9am - 10am exactly. So its fast and furious and does not get draggy. Goodness knows I love to zerg. LOL. I wanna get back to my power levelling once we get the celebrations going.
The rules: Read this carefully.
I am guildless so nobody really knows who I am or my toon's names except for me.
I have placed 5 toons in different locations. Hidden from plain sight. (hee hee i just noticed the pun) I logged out at precisely those locations.
In a day or two I will post the names of these 5 toons, here, in the order they will appear.
At 9am singapore time, I will log in my first toon. I will wait there until someone finds me. When you find me, Jump up and down in front of me and send me a tell with your TOON'S NAME. I will then put up an LFM for 3 minutes exactly letting people know that I have been found. I will then log out that toon.
I will then log in my second toon. It will be in a different location. This is to discourage the first person who finds me from sending tells to his friends, revealing my location. I will wait till second person finds me, put up an LFM announcing this and then log out.
Third toon... till all 5 have been found. And I have collected 5 different names.
I will then log in my first toon and PUT up an LFM for 5 minutes at exactly 10.05am singapore time. I will expect the 5 people who have found me to join the group and we will all meet at the centre of the theatre space in HOUSE P.
5 people will then make 3 dice rolls each of a 1d100. You will each take turns making 3 rolls each. I will add up your rolls to make one accumulated total.
The person with the highest accumulated total wins the WoP heavy repeater...
I will put up an LFM to announce the winner. And wish everyone a Happy Birthday.

I have 'hidden' myself in not too difficult places. Some places are out in the open. You just may not notice me. The purpose is to make it fun. Not make it impossibly difficult.
I will always be in the first instance, in case you are running around in the wrong instance.
I am on the Ghallanda server. I am sorry for those of you from other servers who cant join. But hopefully someone from your server will do the same for DDO's birthday.
Its only one hour so you have a better chance of pulling a wop here than if you go out looting.
If only 2-3 people find me within one hour then only 2-3 people will roll. I will not extend the competition time.
If nobody finds me, then .... well ok. I will probably just keep prize till I can run another contest some other day.
I ONLY ASK FOR ONE THING:
that whoever wins the contest, pay it forward and help out new players when you can. And dont complain so much. Make the best of things. And do more for others.
