2 Man Shroud. We really need a new Mod.

Inspired by Bunker and Shyv on Thelanis,

Mhykke (My Little Pwny) swapped out for reconstruct, I (Archmagi) toughened up my Docent and it was time to go. Part one was a 23 minute grindapalooza.

Part 2 was tougher than we expected:D Full credit to those who went before us - that timing is nuts. We had the orthon, earth troll and Orc. That troll regen and stoneskin from earth was a pain :eek: This part took us the longest of all 3, we had a couple of close pulls but had to reset a few times and get sp back. Doing it again we could have shaved probably 20-25 minutes off completion time.

Part 3. Duh.

Part 4. Actually suprisingly fast. 6 rounds.

Part 5. Grind lol.

I used a few pots etc etc to top off etc, Im not sure how many pots/scrolls wands mhykke used. Im sure he'll fill in the blanks.

Great fun, but morale of the story..."We need a new mod".

Part 2 was the best part. Took 3 pulls to get the right tactics down. Breaking that crystal was satisfying.....


Doing it again we could have shaved probably 20-25 minutes off completion time.



Especially if we didn't stop for a couple smoke breaks next time....

Yes, although what would've been better if mods 5, 7, and 8 had enough attractive raiding so you wouldn't have spent so much time in The Shroud.

The incentive to shortman is the same as it ever was: a sense of accomplishment and the bragging rights.

Don't confuse "shortman" with "non-full group", because they're not the same thing. In the old days when people did dragon, titan, and demon with 3-5 people, they weren't shortmanning. They had just as many guys as were needed.

The word "shortman" means something more extreme: reducing your headcount so that it makes the task substantially harder, not just cutting loose dead weight.

Congratulation guys on a difficult achievement.

I have a less quality achievement myself that I just recently accomplished which also fits under the headline of need a new mod. My battle bard, Rabiez, just hit 100 shroud completions (now on 101). She is still looking for that +3 str tome, lol. She has played god knows how many songs in the Shroud..

1. I gave my caster portal beating weapons....killed off mobs right away and just bashed on portals while waiting for more mobs to spawn

2. I believe we had the earth, orc, troll, and orthon....this took us a couple of tries to get the right timing, but we basically prepped them all down, and killed them either in a firewall or nick beating them down

3. The rainbow wall did appear right before our last water.....wasn't that big of a deal

4&5 were actually the easiest parts.....in 4 just threw up some webs for the trash mobs and fingered/pk'd while nick also dispatched them, then nick jumped on pit fiend right away while I would take out gnolls, throwing nick an occasional reconstruct. Took us 6 rounds, so wasn't terribly long. In part 5 I took the aggro of the mobs while nick peeled them off one by one to kill them, threw an occasional reconstruct....then for the fiend just basically had nick beating on him, and I'd throw a reconstruct, then a couple nuking spells, then a reconstruct, etc. etc. 3, 4, and 5 were the easiest parts. 1 was just annoying. 2 was the toughest part....

Don't have an exact number, but it was around 65 pots.....and surprisingly, very few scrolls....might've used like 20 heal scrolls on myself, and a handful of reconstruct scolls on Groan.
