Not sure if this is already being done but I noticed in my latest run that one of the hardest parts of this quest is ascending up the two shafts. So I found that a great way to take care of all the spawns there are after u kill certain nameds is when u are running up the shafts the first time before u start any of the named fights to leave one assasin at the very top of each of the shafts, and then proceed with the remaining party members. This way when one of the ambushes spawns the assasin can make thier way down the shaft in relative safety while taking out all the bats and trogs that spawn. Attacking them from the top makes them very vulnerable and IMO would save valuable resources with very little risk to the assasin doing the task.
The only thing u would have to be cautious of is the spawn behind the gates at the very top of the second shaft after u kill the Gel Cube, it spawns a swarm of bats, and a rather large one, plus 3-4 gnolls and one theurge. Probably would be best to clear that whole part past that gate and have the sniper wait up top behind it instead of taking that spawn out while on the ramp with a bunch of stuff shooting up at them.
Hope some will take this into consideration, as this can be quite an easy quest if done tactically, I have run it way to many times where people do not take the time to clear the shafts and it only gets worse as time goes on because it fills up more from the ambush spawns. The stuff on the ramps DOES NOT respawn, after u have obtained certain keys they release a new swarm of monsters in certain points, but once those are dead tho it's all clear, so IMO it is worth the time clear ur way. If u leave the original stuff on there as well as the two ambush spawns that is when u start running into problems getting everyone up safely.
****EDIT: that nasty little spawn happens before u kill the Gel. Cube in the second shaft, not after, best to be taken care of before that ambush spawns after the Gel. Cube is slain. This mob up top behind the gate consists of a bat swarm, four gnolls and a caster trog. U can jump down to one of the lower ledges if it gets bad and pick them off.
