I would love to see a line of Prestige Enhancements that would make a strategy fighter viable again.

The most fun I ever had playing a character was when Hava Hela'tym, my TWF dwarven fighter would trip and stun the **** out of mobs.

That nerf bat was swung long ago and hit him squarly in the nards and he was retired.

Wish I could get him back rolling.

I'm just curious, what was the nerf? I'm just uninformed, and the following is an assumption.

TWF 2nd, 3rd, and 4th swings will trip/stun twice.

Let's say you're Dwarf:
18 Base Str
4 Levels
3 Enhancements
3 Tome
6 Item
That makes a 34 Strength unbuffed.

Maxed enhancements give +7 to Combat DCs.

10 base, 12 Str, 7 Combat DC, 10 (vertigo/tenderizer)

That's a 39 DC

That's WAY higher than any caster can get a DC.

The nerf was long ago when they split the enhancement cost into three different catagories for Trip, Stun and Sunder making it cost a huge amount of points to be good at all of them, and they made red names immune to all of them.

How often do you see anyone triping and stunning a mob anymore? I see it very rarely.

I never see it, but back when the cap was 14 I had a tactician and loved it. I'd love to see it come back. Ever used Sap? That's a nice one :)

I remember trying sap, but I think I switched it out, thought it was just a weaker version of stun and cost another feat, I know it was on a seperate cool down timer, but I had enough on my hands keeping up with the trip and stun timers.

I had a lot of fun with this playstyle and would like to see it make a comeback.

I also have a tactics fighter who has been on the shelf since pre-Shroud. While I don't agree that splitting the enhancements into three lines was a nerf - it would be very nice to see the tactical lines get a boost to make them more viable again.

I see my guild leader do it regulary, even fighting s/b. Stuns a mob and then belts it a few times with a khopesh and it dies.
While I have never had a tactical fighter, I never underestimate their worth.

My tactical fighter has evolved into more of a TWF but I still have improved trip. I still use trip often, mostly on skellies.

I switched out the feats and enhancements. It's not worth the effort. Intim then block is a better way of control. But I have to admit it's useful when solo.

Given the fact that any fighting melee class receive trip and sunder for free... all of my melees have those on the bar, and attempt rather often. Even my archery based ranger. (why? I'm not so arrogant to think I'm that good with the bow. I know things will get in my face, and when that happens, I can take care of myself still. Not for a large time period, but better than average.)

Sure, tripping some of this upper level mobs is difficult, but great when it happens. So yes, when I melee, and the timer is up, it gets spammed again.

BTW, tripping and stunning should have been slightly un nerfed such that you actually attempt with your highest attack bonus if I recall previous threads correctly.

I still do it all the time... Stunning Blow especially... I click on that as my first swing whenever I approach any trash mob...
