Halfling Enhancements and Ranged Fighting

Hello,


I'm thinking of rolling a Halfling Rogue who uses Repeaters. I was looking at all the Sneak Attack and Flanking Enhancements that Halflings and Rogues get. Would the Halfling Cunning and Guile line stack with the Rogue Sneak Attack lines? In other words, do Flanking and Sneak Attack to-hit and damage bonuses stack with each other, and will they stack when I'm using a repeater (assuming I'm behind an enemy, don't have aggro and within 30 feet)?

They stack.

However; You don't have to be behind an enemy to sneak attack it. All that's required is that you are within 30 ft, and don't have aggro. If an enemy is blind ( from spell or weapon effect ), you'll get sneak attack even if the enemy is aggroed on you.

I'm also playing a halfling, but having issues. I built the character to shoot a bow (18 dex and PBS), but can't find a shortbow anywhere. I'm new and still in Korthos. I'm stuck swinging a rapier with 8 strength.

I had a longbow, but couldn't use it. If I dual class as a ranger or fighter can a halfling use a longbow?

Make a pure level 20 ranger if you make a ranged character - anything else is 20-25% less dps..

DDO doesn't limit smaller races to small or medium weapons. You can use any weapon at any time, but you take a penalty to-hit if you aren't proficient with it.

A Ranger or Fighter level will give you proficiency with all but exotic weapons.

Don't take a fighter level go pure ranger level 20 for ranger capstone unless you enjoy doing less dps..

Just to emphasize something someone else brought up...

You can use all the cool sneak attack stuff with ranged weapons as long as:

The monster is not attacking you (can be attacking someone else, just not you)
You are within 30 feet

That last one is the kicker, 30 feet seems to be really close. Really close. Too close to switch weapons for melee if the bad guy switchs agro to you and charges.

I'm not arguing with you Matt. I know you're ****ed that your repeater bard got hosed. A LOT of people are in the same boat.

But this has nothing to do with that.

He already has the character he wants to play. A rogue.

And he's asking about proficiency.
