View Full Version : Constant Crashing
Supercharged

Hey guys,
For whatever reason my game client is crashing randomly. It happens if I'm standing around, or in the middle of a raid or surfing the AH. Sometimes I can play for 3-4 hours without an issue, other times it crashes consistently every 30 seconds until I give up.
I checked my event log and it shows this "Faulting application dndclient.exe, version 1.8.0.8125, faulting module granny2.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00034a10." I've tried replacing the file, but when I open the ddo client it updates back to what I assume, is the corrupted file.
Anyone ever have this issue, or know how to fix it?

Yes I keep having this problem and tech support is horrible, I have even went as far as creating the client it's own port out of the firewall, still having the problem....guess they are gonna have to fix it, and as usual they have no known problems...so whatever

Tech support here is pretty good if you post your DXDIAG report.

So for us non-comp geeks what is that and how do I find it?
ps. Monday evening I sat on hold waiting for customer service on the phone for over an our before I just gave up (I just couldn't take that music anymore)

Click on Start and Run. Type DXDIAG and press Enter. Select to save all information and save it to your desktop. You will now have a text file called DXDIAG.TXT on your desktop. Attach it when sending in a tech support issue. That will generally help the techs know more about your system, drivers, and hardware.
That is, of course, assuming that the technicians EVER e-mail you back.
You might try updating both your audio and your video drivers. This may resolve the issue (I've noticed other games that have had issues with granny2.dll were resolved with updates to their sound drivers and/or video drivers).

This is the error message I have been getting
for about 2 weeks now, my game keeps crashing
and it is getting old, I have went through and
made sure the firewall settings are correct, re-
installed windows, re-installed the game, not
having any overheating problems, it happens and
all different times during the day, at no
specific part of the game. and I even tried
disconnecting one graphics card and also swaping
them with another. if I play all day it will
happen 6-10 times a day.
my specs are:
Windows vista ultimate 64-bit
Q6600 quad core intel processor
Asus maximus extreme motherboard
8gigs of Patriot ddr3 1333 RAM
2x 3870 512mb ATI graphics cards set in crossfire
750GB 32MB of cache Hard drive
1000watt ULTRA x3 power supply
I will let you know what they say

Often the forum user tech support is as good if not better than "Official" Tech support.

It has nothing to do with firewalls, a quick search on the internet for atiumdag.dll and just looking at the name suggest its your driver for your Videocard.. Also posting a DXdiag, would be nice the directions are on this thread and as a Sticky in the Tech forum.
edited: saw that you already tried one videocard at a time.
Also looking on the internet for code 0xc0000005, it could be a memeory fault. Remove all memeory and try each one at a tiem since you have 8 gigs, that might take a bit of time.
