So I recently picked up the Bramble-casters from the DQ raid...

I'm soloing Coal Chamber again (stupid twigs), and I get to the Gelatinous Cube

Being a non-caster, I have to range the stupid thing (at least I have manyshot), and deal with all the stupid bats...

Well.... I discovered the Bramble-casters (Greater Spearblock and Thorn Guard) work pretty well against bats... The 10 DR against piercing means they couldn't hurt me and the Thorn Guard (1d8 damage everytime they hit me) was slowly killing them... I took off all my AC items, put on auto-attack against the cube, and completely ignored the bats...

Very very nice...

We need more Greater Spearblock, Greater AxeBlock, and Greater HammerBlock items.
