please explain me your reasons, i never understand why, i love my monk better than any other toon i have.

anybody who know my monk well always want and love to have me in their party.

It is my opinion entirely but I think alot of new players are attracted to the monk therfore the skill of play isn't there yet and the monk class got a bad name from the start.

Another theory of mine I have developed from playing a monk myself is:

Same exact builds will yield these results.

-Monk build played well = Twitch skills are required!
-Monk build played poor = A player with 0 twitch skill or just a new player all together.

Monks are not in the quote on quote HIGH DPS dept and that probably hurts most. They can reach impressive AC numbers quite easily, but all that AC means nothing if you can't take aggro. Quite capable of self-healing which is nice too.

If a monk is played to its full capabilities IE: Using all party buffs constantly during melee then they can be quite effective IMO.

1% or less of MMO players can create a strategy for new content. The other 99% do what worked once in a group they were in as they can't think for themselves. All this content was beaten without monks so those people never invite a monk as they have never had someone show them how to do quest x with a monk.

Example leader A won't run shroud without x spell. Leader B doesn't care at all about that spell and says must have spell Y. And someone else says just make sure you have scrolls of z. All because the 1st run they succeeded on had it that way or because someone told them that and they actually have no idea why and are just repeating it. Most people in this world can't think worth a damm and can't reason their way out of a paper bag. They simpily are too stupid or too lazy so figure out how to use a monk in the group well.

Monks are not a hated class but they are excluded from lots of lfm's, and although it's aggravating there is some logic behind that.

I, too, love my monk the most of all my characters. It is my strongest character. But that's probably because I evaluate that based on my monk's ability to solo any quest or get through quests without being too dependent on other party members for my health and well being. If DDO was a single player game, then monks might just be the uber class.

But DDO isn't a single player game, it's group-driven. And monk's don't fill the typical roles needed by groups very well. They do less dps then most of the other melee classes. They have low to moderate hp's. Their aren't many great monk intimitanks out there. Their defensive prowess is "selfish" unlike paladins, who share their auras with other group members. So while they may shine against trash mobs and soloing and can be played competently, they aren't typically sought out to fill spots, especially against elite or end game content such as raids.

Because it deserves to be hated :)
