Intimidate - How much for what task?

Hi,

i am contemplation rolling up a Character with Intimidate, and so i want to ask how much Intimidate is enough for certain tasks?

Like:
- rounding up the orthons in VoD
- gathering trashmobs in the Shroud
- general trashmob gathering while leveling up


What is useless, what is nice, what is top-notch?

I dont know exact numbers, but my intimibard has a 59 self buffed intimidate and can effectively intimidate most things fairly easily...

Im pretty sure thats on the high end of intimidate.

Useless, in the teens....high 30's low 40's good for general trash. Boss intimidating more often than not territory high 50's.

Orthons in VOD high 30's, low 40's is great.
Trash in shroud mid to high 30's if you're tallking red names not including fiend.

on my intimitank, who was an accidental build.... :P

he hits a 57 when he's all buffed up....

but to intimidate the Orthons in Vod, that is by far the most difficult thing you have listed there, as opposed to the trash mobs elsewhere

and on normal you only need something like a 35 - 40 cause my guy successfully did the orthons at level 14, and he's FAR from an uber build. I do believe that his intimidate was about that when he did it.

40'ish will get you most trash mobs.

50'ish will get you most of the red named stuff (Harry, Sally etc.) consistently.

For the Hound you want to be at 60 to have about a 25% chance. (Not that you need to intimidate her - landing the small dogs is more important).

all numbers for medium toons: add 4 for halflings
these numbers are -your displayed skill in your character sheet-, not your bonus to the roll or total roll (the total r oll adds at least 1; size may cause reductions! eg the dc is 51 for vod normal, but you get a -4 size penalty, so you need a 54 in score = 50 + 1 on the d20 for 51 nofail)

Xyzzy. any difficulty: 65-74: don't bother, you won't do this (the penalty is too large for nofail)

Suulomades, VOD Elite: 65-66
Suulomades, VOD Hard: 60
Suulomades, VOD Normal: 54
Arraetrikos: assorted 50s, but irrelevant: he doesnot attack you anyway, his aggro behavior is different.

Damasze, Shroud Hard: 55 (very large size pen)
Lailat, Zawabi's Revenge Elite: 53
Lailat, ADQ Normal: 46


VOD Orthons, elite: 44-45
Renders and little dogs, Hound elite: 44
Trash mobs in other quests: below this mark
50 will get you everything but raidbosses, guarantee it, 45 will do so too, actually.

I would shoot for a 54; the ability to make vod norm into easy mode for any pug is valuable, but the net gain for getting up to h ard is not that great, unless you want to run it on that d ifficulty a lot; I don't know anyone who can hit the vod elite mark, though when the cap increases I'll be able to.

40s for most trash in raids. 50s will get you the boss, although you can intimidate him 10+ usually with 40s. If you are on Khyber I can show you what a good intimitank can do.

I just ran elite VoD on my intimitank with a buffed intim of 66. I was failing on a 1 and 2, succeeding on a 3.

Hence it looks like you need a 68 to no fail intim Suulomades on elite.

One of my guildies has a very high intimidate tank, I believe it is 71 or 72 all buffed up, which he built so as to be able to no-fail intimidate Lailat on epic.

I have been working on this. I am figureing size penalty in these numbers for all except halfling.
