yeah I see ya point, but starting the downtime at 9.00am yours, most would be at work or school or something. wouldnt affect your peak time at all.

Someone wants to vent their frustrations at Turbine for constantly ignoring the pleas of the Aussie/Asia time zone and continually conducting server maintenance during what is the 'best time' for these poor people to play.

And what does Deval get, virtually told to toughen up and live with it (albeit in a nice way) ;)

I know Deval really well, for the past 2 and a bit years we have been guild mates and time and time again he (and others) have vented their frustrations regarding the times that have been set for these maintenance periods.

Please do us a favor and give us your support, the more people that back it up the more hope we have of Turbine listening (doesn't crosses fingers too hard).

Come on guys/gals, please help us!

9AM EST is the start of MY peak time, so it will always affect someone.

Why do you even make mention of his guild affiliation? Is it related to any of the points of the argument about down time? It does not have any relevance at all.

I said that SOME group would be affected no matter which time. I play with Auzzies all the time due to my schedule, so nice work also in thinking I don't support the community as well.


I'm saying we ALL got to toughen up and live with the downtime because somebody is going to complain.


But no, nobody would EVER complain jumping to false conclusions, right?


Anyway, it's a dead horse, it's done. Why somebody decided to post again here is beyond me, but thought before my post was skewered any more by the experts I'd state it.


And if you don't like the explanation, go play with Rodger too....no matter what time zone you are in.

We ALL miss playtime, ESPECIALLY Thelanis which is down CONSTANTLY instead of just "lag issues." That is my main server and it goes down during main play time constantly.


If this fix can fix Thelanis AND where a lot of people from Oz log, then gods bless em. I'd give up an entire DAY if it worked, instead of play for 3 hours, down for 2, repeat when incident happens again.

That has happend off and on the last several weeks.


So can you all (me too) say: THANK YOU Turbine for addressing this problem and I hope it works from now on.

Note: This Monday the EAST coast times are being used so anybody who plays in the morning to noon (swing shift schedule) is hosed. Should you ignore them if they are based in the US?

(the person misses the point they are finally truly FIXING the servers and rants about the ALMOST 3 years this is going on....)

Oh, and we "lazy" Americans (nice job not differanting North, Central and South America, just like Oz, New Zealand and Fiji must be the same for you South Pacificers) complained not when the server update happened, but more like when it went down 2 to 3 times AFTER a longer than average update AND could not log onto the forums. As for free time and loot ****...that's what got this game further overpowered in the first place! Other MMO's have the same issues and THEIR forums are even worse when it comes to attitude. Check out Wow or Eve.

Again, don't speak to us as if you are our elected advocate or WE are sheep. I may speak on behalf of gamers, but I make no illusions my voice speaks for ALL or even MANY people here as some proxy.


And knowing some pretty high up Oz guilds, please check with your continent first before you are considering being an Auzzie advocate as well. Many people have their own voice, yet recognize we all have to share in the game time down. No mattewr what Turbine does (working on a US east coast GMT of -5 BTW,) somebody will not be happy about the time.

Prisioners don't have rights to choose. Be grateful on the freedoms we do on what and when we can typically play and remember we aren't in lockdown but downtime.

Regardless of whom it affects I am all for them doing it during their work hours and first thing in the morning considering they are east coast based is as good a time as any to ensure they have enough time to get it right. In general they have been very good at trying to keep downtimes away from peak US (their largest population) times. If I was playing an Aussie game or Asian game I would have the same expectations. I wouldn't expect an international company to conform to US peak times.

Firstly I never called you lazy americans, we have have americans in our guild, and I love them to death, they are fantastic people!

The sheep comment could be misread, I was directing that towards one individual.

As for being a aussie advocate and sticking up for other australians, you would have to be australian to understand why I do this, we have always been battlers, and we will always stand up for one another!

Its not our fault that if your president suddenly stopped, our prime minister would find himself looking down the dirt road real quick lol

As for you knowing people high up in aussie guilds, well I have lead an aussie guild for near 3 years now, so I reckon I can speak up for australians.
