I've been wanting to build a tank for some time, preferably an intimitank with decent dps and some self-healing capacity. A friend suggested an 18 Fighter/2 Monk Kensai as a nerf-proof monk splash, and I was wondering how that would work with say, a halfling with full Jorasco marks.
I have not posted a build here, since it "seems" to be a pretty straightforward combo: Just how viable are kamas for a Kensai build?

They're pretty bad. With Kensai3 abilities, kama will crit 18-20/x2, while rapier is 14-20/x2 or khopesh is 16-20/x3. Obviously those other weapons have a lot more DPS (around 20% more for rapier and 35% more for khop). And the rapier choice could also do some actual Puncturing damage.
The only benefits for using a kama are wind stance for a couple percent more attack speed, and occasional ki attacks for 1d6 or +4 damage. That's not at all worth giving up on using a real weapon.

Kamas have extremly bad stats.
No reason to use them except on a pure monk.

And even then you only use them when meleeing Arretrikos or Suulomades.

Vorpals are helpful from time to time.

Admittedly, yes. You don't, however, need Imp. Crit. for them to function.

Thanks for the info. I guess part of what I was shooting for was a nerf-proof build. I'm waiting for the hammer to fall on non-monk weapons requiring centering for the AC bonus...
