Ok - can someone tell me how to get out of this mess?
I have a lvl 6 rgr/1rgr
I had originally taken toughness as first rogue feat and then oversized twf as feat at lvl 3
I then decided to go tempest path and i am not sure what i took for lvl 6 feat
When i got lvl 6 rgr (7 levels total), i switched out the level 6 feat for dodge
I then took my free respec from that lady in harbour and switched out toughness for mobility
WEll, my issue now is when i try to respec Oversized twf for spring attack, the only feats that show up to take out are mobility and oversized twf - spring attack does not show up as an option to replace oversized two weapon fighting
The two favored show up as well - and i do have the required dex and BAB
WHAT DID I DO WRONG AND HOW DO I FIX?

Just an in case question. Did you drag your feat that you want to get rid of into the slot on Fred's box just below your current feats (box on left)? When you place this feat in that box (box on left) the feats you have eligable to exchange will populate on the right. Then you just have to drag your new feat (the one you want) into the lower box on the right.

When you respec feats, you must make sure that you would qualify for the feat you need when you took the original feat. For example, you would have to already have dodge and mobility to qualify for spring attack. Therefore, spring attack would have to be your 6th level feat.
The game tracks when you take what feat. Your problem is simple. Spring attack needs both dodge and mobility. At level 3 (The feat you are trying to switch) you did not have both dodge and mobility.
So what you are going to need to do is either switch dodge to a lower level, and then take spring attack as your level 6 feat or, wait until level 9 when you get your next feat.

Thats not always the case I took power attack at lvl 12 an swaped out a lvl 6 feat for cleave.................but u do have to have the BAB requirement, not sure if spring attack has one but............................

So it was
1. Toughness
3. oversized twf
6 something (switched) < Dodge
then you switched
1. <Mobilty
3. oversized twf
6 Dodge
and now are trying
1. Mobilty
3. oversized twf < Spring Attack
6 Dodge
Do you see the problem now?
Hint you must have Dodge before Spring Attack as (Dodge and Mobility are pre-reqs) for the Spring Attack feat is a bab 4.
The respec system keeps your feats true to form ensuring the order is in place... It is this way that it keeps the pre-req integrity in place.
In order to fis this you will need 3 shards - ie.) three respecs...
1. Switch out dodge (feat slot 6) for something to hold it's place
2. Switch out Oversized (feat slor 3) with dodge
3. Switch out the feat in slot 6 with Spring Attack

At level 3 you didn't meet the BAB requirement for Spring Attack, so you can't get it.
Incidentally, you aren't require to take everything in order when swapping in a series of feats. For example, my rogue has TWF as a level 13 feat, ITWF as a level 9 feat, and then GTWF for 15. However, very likely a bug.

You need spring attack to be your level 6 feat because it requires a BAB4 feat slot (your only one is at level 6).
You currently have:
1: Toughness ->Mobility
3: OSTWF
6: Dodge
and you need to have:
1/3: Dodge/Mobility
6: Spring Attack
Sadly this is a lot of replacing as i think you may have to swap out both Mobility and Dodge for dummy feats... and then use 3 more feat respecs to set things up in the right order. I hope someone else can figure out how to do it in less than 5 respecs. But I dont think it will let you pull dodge out from under mobility. That's also 15 days of time... By which point you may already hit level 9... and can take Spring attack then. But that's 2 levels of no spring attack/tempest...

I don't think it will let you switch out dodge because mobility depends on it... I think 5 shards is the minimum.
I hope someone can prove me wrong for this case though.

ok thanks for all the comments:
I think i understand what has happened and what i need to do...
The thing that really drove me crazy was that i did not have choice of taking dodge off of my feats - i think as someone pointed out that it is because mobility was dependant on it
So i just switched mobility out for toughness
When 3 days are up, i can switch dodge out for something
Then three days later i can switch out my lvl 1 feat with dodge
Then three days later i can switch out toughness for mobility
Then three days later i can switch out oversized twf for spring attack
Wow - what a mess - oh well - i am away for a few days for next couple weeks so will just have to wait out the timer...
Cheers!

Of course it's not available. It's winter.

Spring Attack also has a BAB requirement of +4 I believe, which is not satisfied at level 3.

An alternate solution would be to level up once more and multi-class to either Fighter or Monk. Both receive a bonus feat at that level. Monk feat can only be used for Dodge or Mobility, Fighter bonus feat can be used for Dodge, Mobility or Spring Attack.
Don't know if this fits into your overall plan but I'd pick Monk. Even if you don't use the AC bonuses you'll still pick up the bonus feat, +2 to all saves and Kama's (if they float your boat :)).

Well i was thinking of doing that but i am worried that i may want that ranger level later? I had just read somewhere that the monk splash will be pretty much useless if they take ac mod out? I am not sure if that is true or not and what i lose from not having that 1 more rgr level versus what i get...

Cheers,
I don't think you'll be loosing out on too much.
You've already multi-classed once (I did read that correctly, 6 Ranger/1 Rogue?) which means you can't obtain the Ranger capstone at 20.
PrE's for Ranger are at: 6, 12 and 18. Which means you can take one more non-Ranger level without sacrificing access to the top tier of Tempest.
Monk AC bonus shouldn't affect you to much. As it stands you're build isn't using it which means if it get toasted in the next update (which has in no way shape or form been confirmed as anything other than a rumor) your AC won't be any worse than it is now.
From Wizards of the Coast (http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/v35/ClassesII.rtf) you loose....
A second, third and fourth level spell
One BaB
**NOTE** It's always possible there will be a level 19 Ranger Enhancement that'll rock. It's one of the risks taken when multi-classing. I tend to think the benifits gained are worth it. **/NOTE**
In exchange you'll gain
A bonus Monk Feat
+2 to all saves
Kamas and Shuruken (not a big bonus, but might be useful)
Wisdom bonus to AC when nekked
1 AC when nekked (granted at Monk level 2, 5, 10, 15 & 20) **EDIT** Not avaliable without two levels of Monk **/EDIT**

certain ranger abilities at the end do depend on the ranger being pure and we don not know yet if the capstone is for ranger. Really, is it horrible if you wait until the next feat is available, or must you do it sooner, or even NOW (within 9 days and that cost mentioned before?)
Ranger tempest, monk splash...geez what no rapiers suggestion; that would have made it PERFECTLY unique then

Of course I didn't suggest Rapiers. The OP didn't ask for any input on weapons. What I did suggest was a possible alternative (Monk or Fighter level) to ease the cost in time, money and shards required. Amazingly enough, I managed to do it without snarky commentary aimed at anyone else who posted in the thread.

ya spring attack has a 6 bab requirement so lets say he has at lvl 9
toughness
dodge
mobility
and imp crit shalsing(idk random feat)
he would have to swich that imp crit because then he will have the bab because it was takein at lvl 9 but he could not swich toughness for it because when he took that feat he only had the barb of +0 or +1

Correction to a previous post...Found out Monks do not gain a 1 AC Centered bonus until level 2.
