This weekend will be my first time hitting 1750 favor, and I'd like to celebrate by making a new character for mod 9. I'm making a few assumptions with this build (such as taking cleave and great cleave assuming dwarven defender will have a double hate button like the paladin defender).
This is just a first draft, but I'd like to get opinions before continuing because I'm not as familiar with the end game and equipment as I'd like to be. As of now, I plan to eat a +1 dex tome and take two-weapon fighting and oversized two-weapon fighting instead of cleave and great cleave if my hate button assumption proves incorrect.

I think I should also clarify that I don't have to be a DPS dealing machine in order to feel valuable in combat. I'm a team player and happy to be such, even if it means my kill count is low (though I do like seeing pretty flashing numbers when possible - ala my battle cleric main).

weapon specializatons are wastes of feats...what is your AC calc? what is your DR look like?
and are you going to have a viable DPS mode?

If you are not doing dps you are not a team player - it really is that simple. Make a character with intimidate that can do dps if it wants to that is my recommendation.

Most of the time it's unhelpful for a fighter to intentionally have a low kill count: being an intimidator doesn't really compensate.
You should move some points from cha into dex so that you can eventually qualify for GTWF (after getting tomes). Then change your useless saving throw feats into TWF, ITWF, GTWF. In addition, that higher dex will improve your AC (considering Dwarf Armor Mastery etc).
PS. Since the Stalwart Defender specialty hasn't been announced yet, it's really too soon to plan out a mod9 fighter.

This character has a khopesh, weapon specializations, enhancements, and power attack/cleave/great cleave. That statement wasn't to mean that I WON'T be doing damage, it just means that I don't have to lead the kill count to feel special. The only reason I mentioned it was because there was a thread a few days ago about how tanks were boring unless they were DPS classes. That doesn't apply to me, so I didn't want build suggestions to reflect that.
Currently the only form of intimiDPSer that I'm aware of involves monk/ranger splashes. That particular character doesn't interest me, and I don't want to set myself up for a nerf to boot.

You don't have a decent way to hurt monsters. Redirecting 3 feats from saving throws into TWF would give you a method; THF feats would be another (less powerful) method, but either way at least you're trying.
A fighter who only carries a shield is planning to be a non-contributor a lot of the time.

I only have Luck of Heroes and Force of Personality as save feats. I can easily sacrifice Luck of Heroes, but Force of Personality will end up increasing my will save after equipment by +6. Are you sure that having one extra swing is worth an extra 30% chance to save vs. mind affects as a tank?
What about Skill Focus: Intimidate? Will this build have enough intimidate at high levels without it? I figure 19 ranks, +15 item, +5 charisma and +3 enhancements will be +42 (an average DC of 53). Is that enough?
I had also thought about using dwarven axes instead of khopeshes, but I had more feat slots than enhancement points. Would it be better to give up that feat and two-weapon fight with dwarven axes without the racial enhancements (edit: I could actually drop fighter intimidate III for dwarven axe damage I)?
Of course I was planning to carry around a greatsword for times when armor wasn't mandatory. Will the thf feats really make that much difference when I already have cleave and great cleave in the build (provided I didn't go twf)?

You should also drop Great Cleave, which comes out to the 3 feats needed for GTWF. Really, Cleave has little value, and Great Cleave has even less.

+6 is not 30%, and GTWF is not +1 swing. Anyway, there currently is nothing important to roll will saves against. Maybe that will change sometime, but your paladin bonus should be plenty. You can also get buffs and cure spells to protect from will effects, but there isn't a buff to teach you GTWF.

The intimidate skill is measured by the lowest roll, not the average. If you want more Intimidate you can get Head of Good Fortune and Green Steel-weave Gloves.

GTHF gives about +30% DPS currently, and will give more in mod9. Cleave and Great Cleave do not contribute in meaningful DPS situations.

I can't stress enough how right A_D and Madmatt are.
Wpn Spec is as vital for Ftrs as Rage is for Barbs. Who doesn't want to do +6 damage per swing?
As for intimitanking you only need to 'turtle' maybe 5% of the game, you're gonna be bloody bored I'd you don't have GTWF for the other 95%.
Oh, and don't even THINK about multiclassing until the Ftr capstone is announced...

several things which can be improved. your enhancements and ac calculation do not match (exp on armor and shield mastery). way too many toughness enhancements but did not max out dps options
this is my new melee, already at L15 but still need some gear, currently running around with 50+ unbuffed ac
