View Full Version : DDo account management dont want to let get back on my account.

My name is Alex Laflamme, I have a story to say, to help me get my real 2 years old account back that DDo account management Locked because of souspicious activities.My toon names are : Emary Mighty Ox, Ghorax Mighty Ox, Theuf Mighty Ox, Madhmax, Nostraxius Mighty Ox, Spellbox Mighty Ox, Xhee Mighty Ox.. those are some of my alts, some of Ghallanda players may recongnized those names pretty well.

OK, long story short : I dont own a credit card, cant own one. 1 of my friends ( guild leader of The Iron Phalanx, Leloric, leloman, lelothian, lelog...named Trapper for hes real name.) paid for me 1 month of game play with hes credit card. All was going fine, exept that we had to call DDo account management to get the account actually active because it changed credit card. All good still. But when my time was over, i didnt had a way to pay my account before it ended, so DDo account managment suspended my account for non-payment. Still ok. Since i had trouble with my real life, i didnt really care at that point to get my account back, didnt had the cash and time for it..

Couple weeks after all that, I decided to start playing again, so i did try to find some game cards in stores, but couldnt fine any near where i live ( Montreal area). Strange because therse a lot of ppl that cant get a credit card.. but that wasnt too bad, DDo have another way to let players without credit card to play thier game, you can activate it with a game card brought online via Paybycash or get a prepaid credit card.

So, when i tried to write the Code from paybycash on my account, it told me that it couldnt be processed. I was concerned and tried the same Code on my Girlfriend account, and it worked just fine, ( she was suspended for non-payment as well as i am)..

I got a little upset, because its suppose to work just as fine for me no?
So i called DDo account management and tried to understand why i couldnt log in or reactivate my account..

They answered me that, in order to reactivate my account, i had to reactivate it with a valid credit card or a Prepaid credit card. When you buy a prepaid credit card, you dont own it, so no billing info there. So when i tried to rewrite the billing information on my account, it didnt work, because the account management system needs to have billing and credit card address matching...

Ok so prepaid card didnt work for me, and neither the game card from Paybycash..

I called DDO account management many times trying to figure out a way to get my account back..Each time got turn back by them telling me : You dont own that account so we cant let you put a activation code on it, since your account have some souspicious activities....
FUNNY THING IS, I NEVER REPORTED THAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES ON MY ACCOUNT, NEVER. NOBODY TRY TO STEAL IT. THANKS YOU.

So, i tried to get intouch with the guy that paid for me a couple of months ago.. but he doesnt play anymore, and we live near each other, Im from Quebec and hes from Ohio...So theres no way i can get to call him or tell him to call DDo and talk to them or reactivate my account with hes credit card.

SO TO END THIS :

I did brought a prepaid credit card, and brought the game with it 30 days free. I had a pre order account with over 9 alts all over lvl 16 or near it.. With tons of crafted and looted items, for almost 2 and a half years of playing...

So now.. Im asking Anyone that know me, to call Ddo account management, and tell them about my story, to help me out getting back into game with my real account and toons that i miss so much.

I've been playing with Alex for quite some time and know a tiny bit more than what's he's posted mostly from listening and playing with him for the last couple years. I suspect this may be somewhat of a language barrier issue and not knowing to ask the right questions to get the right kind of help.

He's trapped. He'd been using prepaid cards but couldn't locate any so a guildy offered to pay for it himself. When that guildy went inactive for awhile and it's sorta screwed up the account. Because it was locked for non-payment (probably a fraud or loss prevention activity) - he can't use a prepaid card now that he's located some. Because he can never have a credit card, using a prepaid card [which never has a valid address] can't be matched against his address.

Unfortunately, we all know how this works. I can't call for him - at best they can comiserate with the problem but because it's not my account information, we can't even discuss it specifically.

What this problem really needs is a GM/Staff that's willing to go a little extra and talk to the account owner. What I'm certain Alex CAN do is use the game forum message system since HE does have the password. He can also use whatever attached email is available. There should be a way to bypass whatever problems there might be...and I'd certainly hope the history of prepaid cards would be rather obvious on the account history tabs...basically, calling the standard help number isn't getting him anything but frustrated...

I replied more at length in another thread this is posted in, but the main problem they're gonna be looking at is the fact that account info was shared.

Yeah, it happens, but ya can't put that in Turbine's face and think they'll just ignore it.

Well, I think the policy behind not sharing account information is more or less for the players' protection AND to avoid responsibility for problems. Would you really (as a game manager) want to be involved in determining who owns an account versus who doesn't? It's a virtual commodity under a ToS that basically says you're subject to whatever Turbine wants to do.

However, I think there's an opportunity for them to help Alex. Pretty much, he has control of the account. The issue seems to be some problem with billing and manually turning things on/off. Legally, any US company must maintain billing records back 6+ years (there is a standard, but often it's until the IRS gives you permission to release the records). While I don't know if they maintain a history of changes - however, they should be able to see rather clearly that the account had a long history of being subscribed by gamecard and every little bit of evidence fits the story being provided.

All he really wants to do is to be able to USE a gamecard with the account. Doesn't need them to give up a credit card number or change the password - just let him give them money.

madmax79, you should be able to add your pre-paid credit card to the account. Just call the number on the back of the pre-paid card, and have them change the name and address on file to your information. Then when you update the card in the system, it should be accepted. Please note, in some cases it can take a day or two for the update to process with the credit card company.

Did call the prepaid credit card number on the back of the card, the only thing i get form that number is the amount of cash remaining on my card, nothing else, nobody answer me, hell, i use to be able to reactivate the account with a Game card brought via paybycash, I did called to activated a card and the guy did it without any problems, at that time, Trapper was ( owner of the account, since he had paid with hes credit card. but he went inactiv) So DDo account management did accepted 1 time, but not anymore..It really looks like a language thing, i dont speak well, but can write obviously..
So I cant change billing info of a credit card i dont own, its prepaid.
My girl friend account was activated with 2 different credit card sinces its online, and she NEVER had any problems, so why am I still locked. plz help quick.

There may also be a website that will allow you to update the name and billing information for the card. If you can't update that, unfortunately the website won't be able to accept the card.

Try a DEBIT card. That is what me and the hubby use. WHY? We hate credit cards. It's accepted cuz of the CC logo. Most bank issue you one if you have a bank account with them.

Yes, some prepaid cards will allow online purchases, and some will not. Most of them will say on the packaging before you buy them whether they do or don't.

One that I know works is the greendot (or the walmart version of the greendot) prepaid Visa debit cards.
