+3 Wounding of Puncturing Rapier, ML 12, RR Human, UMD 22. No damage.
Will trade for a minimum of 75 Large ingredients 20 of which must be scales. Scales, Arrowheads, Stones, and Shrapnel preferred. No large horns.

Thanks for the interest and PMs.
I am looking for large ingredients as the main focus of this trade. I would entertain other WoPs (Dagger, Short Sword) as supplementary to a trade for large ingredients though.

Looking to trade for large ingredients isn't the problem...it's the NUMBER in which you are asking for.
Besides, RR: Human...personally, think it makes for a harder sell unless a non-human rogue is going to pump all their skill points into UMD.
Human bard perhaps? Ok....but still not the best utilization if you ask me.
Feel that your asking "price" is a little high, however would be interested to see what you get for this in the end, if anything at all.
I see 20 large's tops....at the most, half scales. Do some research and look at how much large scales go for on the AH...

Just traded a w/p dagger for 25 large ingrediants. Though 75 is a bit much, I would put the value closer to 50 or so, it's worth well more than 20 larges.

What rogue, bard, or splash doesn't max out UMD? It's the single most powerful skill in the game.

I could offer the same advice to you.
Go look at the auction house and see how much a +1 WoP rapier goes for, and then come back to me.

Can't find anything comparable (obviously) but let's just say that, for the sake of argument, one's being sold for 20 million gold.
One large scale goes for the average of 4-6 million gold.
I understand the value of both the w/p rapier (or any other w/p item) and the large ingredients. I also understand that posting here to trade makes more sense that trying to sell on the AH (easier to get more of what you want for a nice trade on an item such as this).
However, using the ideas above of the average value of large scales (and other large's as well) the trader's request simply seems a bit demanding, and it also seems that I'm not the only one who thinks so.
But hey, like I said...would be interesting to see what the final trade is for this item.
Wasn't trying to cause a stir....

20 million gold? When one does show up on the auction house... people put a max bid on it and laugh all the way to the bank.

The rapier offer is a fair request to anyone who plays this game at the top end. The larges only take time, they are a guaranteed reward. Luck of the draw for those pesky scales. We still got perhaps a month for the new mod so plenty of time to run 8 toons 2.5x weekly so that's approximately 80-100 larges there if you're a grinder.
The AH is an unpredictable guide. There have been at least 6 wop rapiers I know of that have gone for 1-2 mill gold BUT that is only due to some poor unfortunate slob who had no clue to the value. Wop daggers/ss will go most days of the week for the same price.
Keep looking for those larges ... they may take time but should come.

The rapier is worth the 75 larges. It is going to be hard to find someone with that many scales laying around. If they have it the rapier is well worth it. Oh yeah...

I did some research on what they have been going for and I knew that the 75 larges would be a good place to start, even if at first it seems a staggering number. The 20 scales would obviously be a little tougher, but if you think you're close send me a PM and we'll see what we can work out.
Thanks for the feedback so far.
