Question to Thelanis

Is the following LFM standard practice in Thelanis ? Im just wondering because I am visiting your server to meet new players and learn new tactics.

Though I don't play as often as most, I've been on Thelanis for a while. That sentiment in LFM is very much a rarity.

Thanks for the heads up; I have my new level 4 character parked in there now. If they are willing to do the mule work while to get me an upgraded silver flame talisman while I cook up some lunch I am more than willing to put an item up for roll that I highly doubt I will get anyway :) As far as the OPs question goes, these LFMs are very few and far between. You will see them once in a rare while asking for the eldritch runes at the end of the Monastery quest also once the LFMer has finished soloing it.

I used to see "buy in" LFMs for VoD.. and before that strident LFMs about raid loot rules.. haven't seen anything like that in ages. Our main pest in LFMs is trade offers.

Right on, I've seen it done by more than one person and I have no clue what their intentions are and they don't bother me. I would imagine the cursed crypt run is for items to get towards personal use, but maybe they are taking screenshots of them? Either way, I'm getting an amulet upgrade way earlier than I normally would :)

No, that, to me at least, is acceptable. You're putting in all the work, you're the one doing it all...getting completion, free loot and end reward for an essence is a fair trade.

As Bee said, that seems to be alright (At least IMO as I've done similar things for ingredients or stone parts in the vale). The LFM guy seems to want to roll on other people's rare tradeable drops without doing all the work himself though, which is why its a nono :D

Yesterday I destroyed my fearsome talisman to upgrade the negative energy talisman, too many beholders having their way with me. I managed 2 runs yesterday and today what do I see? Said people running The Cursed Crypt. And they wanted the named loot, so why wouldn't i join? They had a level 5 in there getting his Talisman not to mention they already had the first floor completed. So i joined up and now have my 3rd tier Talisman. In my books it was a great deal. A guaranteed upgrade for the CHANCE of named loot. Not to mention the named loot in there is complete **** except for maybe the docent. So I thanked the two of them for doing the quest and offered them to open it on elite so that the next puggers wouldn't only get their upgrade but the favor too.

IDK, seems kinda entrepreneur-ish to me.

Well, they are doing part of the work. They are opening the quest, thus offering a speedy route for the people that dont want to do the level 11 tombs quests. And they are both sorc, so I imagine they are providing the service of stoning the silver flame agents. They are thus providing an easy way of entering the quest and complete it. And it is clearly advertised in the LFM. I dont see anything wrong with this. If people dont like it, they just dont have to join them!

But, yes, it is pretty much the first time I have something like that on Thelanis (apart from the LFM Monastery completed, come get your essence and other loot and give me the rune, which are also ok).

Not sure how much different that is then some guilds who expect PUG's to put up raid loot for a roll, but only offer any loot they pull for roll in guild chat. At least this was out in the open.

actually kind of tihnk everything in there has a use if you are creative; anathema and jinx's vexation are wonderful twink items, the cloak of curses has one very cool situational use, and the docent is outstanding and highly-valuable

whatever you think if the choker, the sucker trades for a ton. i dont have a character that could use or benefit from one, but i do like large ingredients.

first time in playing voer 2years I have seen an lfm saying you had to roll off your named items, as for the person who posted the lfm he needs the extra dps real badly, I fought him on my lvl 16wizard in melee and he got creamed, complained I had too many buffs so I fought again both of us w/o buffs n same results lol. Who wears the Scourge Choker on a melee these days, honestly? I wear 1 on my Cleric and Sorcerer. Trying to get a 3rd for my Wizzy. Docent of Defiance on my Cleric when I need DR/ in raids like VoD.

If someone really wants to do Cursed Crypt for an Amulet upgrade or any other quest, IMO all they have to do is put up there own LFM asking for help. I know many people that would jump in to help them quickly.
Lots of bored capped chars out there looking for a diversion....esp between raid timers. lol.
