Newbie Paladin Stats?

Hi all
Started a Paladin, ran him up to lvl 2 (so I suppose a reroll isn't *that* big a deal) before I checked the forums
Was (kinda) planning on having him use THF (unless that's a huge mistake for Pallys for some reason)

Anyway went with Human (32pts)
Str 16
Dex 10
Con 16
Int 8
Wis 8
Cha 16
Anyway have noticed most of the builds here throwing higher scores into Dex, and less into CHA, don't you need the best CHA possible for a Pally? Or is the extra point (or wo) of AC from Dex worth it at higher levels?

I've got a 16 cleric, but haven't levelled up any melee classes, so I'm not really sure how the best distribution for stats goes.

Any help/suggesions/thought provoking flames you can offer are appreciated!

Put the points you put in Dex in Wisdom or even Int for the skill points, there is nothnig interesting in higher Dex for your paladin.

With Divine Might around now, 16 Cha is not all that much of a bad idea. 16/8/16/8/10/16 sounds solid to me.

Do you want to stay pure?

If you want to make him a DPS Paladin (which I assume is what you're going for since you want to THF), I'd highly suggest going TWF instead because you can get double smites/divine sacrifices.

Plus you could splash monk for evasion and better AC.

I think I'd like to stay pure, I'm considering 2 fighter (or 2 monk I suppose) but he'll be pure until they've announced the capstone anyway.

I recently started another server and am looking at making a pure challice knight Drow pallie (no time for the 1750 grind ATM.) TWF via smites seems good, but would like not to be a finesse paladin. Suggestions on stats and starting non twink (400 favor PC is a throwaway) gear due to new server (unless it's somehow amazingly cheap on kyber to buy a +1 tome for int per se IF needed for CE/skill points, and could transfer some gold before leaving server PC #1) and all is greatly appreciated, thanks.

None of the +1 tome need to be read at level 1(with Int as an exception), but a +1 Dex tome ASAP for 2wF.

Would be my personal choice, and find a +1 Dex tome around either on the AH or generosity of the server.

Kyber's cheapest tome is170K (wisdom+1...odd the ONE stat not listed tomed.) I'm (again) NOT able to twink as in NOT having money for tomes at early levels; the int tome would be lucky at BEST (traditionally the "cheapest" of +1 tomes.) And why would I go 1750 with +2 int is beyond me when Str,Cha,Con, OR Dex has higher priority. But at least str/cha were balanced at creation.

*sigh* now to consider if Kopesh is worth it with limited feats.....

Hmm let me see what tomes I have on khyber maybe we can work something out I see you have thelanis listed in sig I would be interested in stuff there. I do have a +2 str tome on khyber and maybe a khopesh or two.

This build is for endgame, but with little twinking needed as most Paladins require alot... it allows you to take 2wF when you get a Dex tome and CE with an Int if you want to change up PrE's and by the time you hit 16 you will have enough money to buy a tome or 2 IMO.

Or maybe thats just me...

A self-proclaimed DPS option shouldn't have dex below 15. Unless you got a unbound +3 or 4 dex tome lying around.
