Hello all,

I have a question regarding monsters/mobs that save two times simultaneously. I have a toon that is a pure crossbow user (lvl 16). Higher level mobs on elite tend to save a LOT. I tend to go through a quest with a moderate amount of slayer bolts and a monster type Great crossbow (Ex: Smiter with Construct Slaying Bolts). In this case, the construct has to save twice, one from being smited and one from being slayed.

When used with the combo above, are the chances for that monster to save the same or lower when being hit simultaneously by a smiting weap and slaying bolt? Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this. I just want to be more efficient with higher end mobs on elite and not use a smiter/banisher/disrupting great with slaying bolts if the said bow is useless. Maybe I'll used a W/P with slayer, Cursespewing/Shattermantle with slayer bolts or something else.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I am not in tune with all the save statistics, DCs, etc of mobs.

BTW: When slaying bolts are used with disruptors, banishers and smiters in quests and raids, with Improved Precise shot, seeing multiple targets drop at once from one bolt makes me giggle. :D

smiting is on crit only, so the double save effect wont occur very often

Good point! A better example would be using a Disruption Crossbow with Greater Undead Slaying bolts.
