DDO Reports Technical Difficulties

:) Ya, I'm not perfect, and neither is my hosting provider. Considering that I only pay $10.95 a month, and I have a TON of space and bandwidth, I really can't complain. They are also great at getting their customers info on what is going on. I even have my own RSS feed (http://feeds.dreamhoststatus.com/?q=tropicana+spacey+otis+peeler+backup) for issues that affect my site from any of the related systems that I am on.

Dreamhosting's great, I'm sure. I use GoDaddy hosting for DDOcast myself. It's $4 a month and (i don't think) has ever been down for the past year and a half! But it does have pretty limited storage (like 300mb for photos, which I am no where near capping out). Mega bandwidth allocation (now if I could just test it by getting DDOcast on Digg's front page...hmm *thinks top 10 sexiest elves in DDO feature would get da hitz!!!!).

Ya, this is the first time that I have had problems like this in the 6 years that I have been with them. They said that they recovered the data and will be restoring it within 48 hours.

Not that it matters to anyone but me, but I am getting a $50 credit to my account for the trouble. (That is over 4 months worth of free hosting, Merry Christmas to me.)

If DDOReports was a commercial site, I might be upset. As it is, people can still get the info off the twitter site too, so I'm not too upset.
