View Full Version : WF barbar+Scourge Choker
Comfortably
12-07-2008, 10:07 PM
Hello everyone,
My WF barbar just got to 11 today and so I had a scourge choker in my cleric's bank...
Looking for someone who can tell me how this progresses to the full +8 bloodrage.
I tested it out in PvP with a guildy and it didn't seem to have a order to it along with the fatigue.
thx for any help.

Get his once Blood Rage 1, 4 second timer starts , get hit again while the timer still going it resets back to 4 seconds, after the 4 second timer fades it converts to blood rage 2 with a 6 second timer, get hit while Blood Rage 2 is active and you will get a new Blood rage 1. After the blood rage 2, 6 second timer fades it will convert into Blood Rage 3 with a 11 second timer, after the Blood Rage 3 timer disappear you will get the -50% attack speed penalty
;) I'm not good at explanations but this how it works.

So, I read this 2 ways. The first, is that if you are being attacked constantly, you will continually reset to Blood Rage 1, thereby keeping the rage going for an entire fight (but at reduced Str bonus? What are the strength bonuses per version?).
The second interpretation is that, so long as you get hit while in Blood Rage 1 or 2, you may stay in that form indefinitely, but once it progresses to tier 3, you have 11 seconds before it ends and you find yourself swinging through Jell-o.

Would you please clarify how this functions?

That is correct if i remember correctly is Blood rage 1 and 2 are +2/+2 to str/con each, and bloodrage 3 is +4/+4 str con.
Bloodrage 1 fades into Bloodrage 2 which fades into Bloodrage 3 which fades into the "fatigue".
Everytime you get hit you will get a new bloodrage 1 no matter what. If you need further help ;) i will elaborate with screenshots to show you how it works.

So, does that mean that in order to gain Blood Rage 3, you would have to avoid being hit for some period, so that BR 1 and then 2 may fade into 3? Is it possible to gain BR 3 and prolong the higher boost without getting the fatigue until the end of the fight?
I guess, my issue, is that I've seen many people talk about the +8 version as though it were fairly easy to come by and as though it lasted for long enough to be useful, but if it's really more like a +2 most of the time, and only rarely +8 followed by the special fatigue, I cannot figure out why the item would be so prized, since the penalty would greatly outweigh 11 seconds or so of +8 Str.

The last tier of bloodrage is very difficult to come by.
After a while, I found it to be more trouble than it's worth.

Its a lot more helpful on boss fights, like when you are tanking Suulomades (before chains) or Arraetrikos Part 5, you barely notice any fatigue at all since you are always at bloodrage 1 and 2 and sometimes at 3.

That's what it seemed like to me. And, for basically a stackable Rage spell, the item's value appears to be inflated beyond reason.

The trade value is appropriate for a necklace with stackable rage bonus... but not for one that also debuffs you to 50% attack rate.

Does it, then, work like the Rage spell and not interfere with casting? I assume that the fatigue effect matters little to a caster as well, then? Not a bad way of upping your HP and Fort saves in a sticky situation.

Exactly, my Cleric and Sorcerer dont swing weapons... Extra Hps/Fort saves... and my Cleric also wears the Docent of Defiance when the situations calls for it.

because of my short English I am not clear whether or not it is worthwhile to have the collar put around the time for a barbarian?
