Is there any chance of there being Prestidge classes for wizards and sorcerers in a future mod?

For example: Crystal Mage, Dragon Blood Sorcerer, Master Spell Crafter, Metamage, Widow Queen?

They previously answered that yes, but the plans where to finish the ones already started plus fighters, paladins and barbarians first.

Eldritch Knight and Mystic Theurge would be my most anticipated Prestigeclasses.

Both would allow for a completly new style of bulding a character. Nearly giving you as many new choices as a whole new class!

It would unock a completly new experience of character abilities, just like when Monk was new.
Currently you can try to build characters who emulte the play experience that those Prestigeclasses would give, but those builds are basically "fun" builds. They massivly lack behind in power compared to traditional character concepts. (Okay, perhaps a bit compensated by the fact that people who roll such types are mostly the ones who have seen it all, so can give them a good twinking and now the inns and outs of DDO really well. Low powered Build + very experienced player = average contribution to the group)

I'm not saying that these would be bad - (Add in Arcane Trickster for me!) - but, it looks like Turbine is using PrE's to emulate prestige paths from D&D 4.0… so more than likely we'll see things like the Archmage.

I wonder how are they going to make the Archmage not overpowered, think about it, you can actually cast lightning/acid/cold/fire firewalls/dbfb/polarrays/ etc. If you want you can basically choose one damage spell and go with it...

Not that i will complain if my sorc is overpowered aggain :D

Edit: Had to add that, Wall Of Lightning on Harry :p

I can't see any of the mix PrCs working well in DDO. The downside to playing a Mystic Theurge in PnP is pretty significant because you suck for so many levels early in the game, and then are behind at later levels, but in DDO, the levels you suck can be dealt with more easily, and the important spells are low enough in level to still be attainable with this. Not to mention that one of the bigger drawbacks of fewer prepared spells is somewhat negated by the SP system.

That's just an example...they would have to be balanced against the question of: Why go any other class, when I could play a Wiz or Sorc mixed with Figher, Cleric or Rogue and keep my spellcasting ability almost at full?

Caster PrCs seem like they'd be hard to implement in DDO, since most of the good or interesting ones rely on abilities that are uncommon, unique and/or alter the way magic interacts with everything else... How would you sculpt spells in DDO? Energy Substitution would be broken. How do you Spin Fate? (The last might be easier...with a short-duration clicky that boosts your save DCs or some such). How do you create 7 Veils of energy...and ones that aren't broken? Or how can you borrow spells from a spellpool?
