I personally love this game and have since way back of May '06. I can never get enough (although I did take a year hiatus). Since I've been back I get so engrossed in it that the time slips by. I know I could just hit alt+tab or look at my cell phone but I'm one of those people that needs to have something right in front of my face for me to notice it.
Any chance a current time display could get added to the UI (have it be optional)? My sleeping habits will thank you :D

Play with a minimized screen so you can see the time display in the taskbar.

I'd love to just have a /time command (possibly /time est).

I just play in Window mode.
Uou just lose about an 1/8th of an inch at the top and bottom of screen, no biggie, but you
can see your task bar and clock.

VERY minor gripe, but I only play on a 15" monitor so I need all those 1/8" I can get :p Windowed mode is nice for when I need to refer to something or look something up, but it squishes my already small and squished screen even more :(
A time display or /time command would be nice, but not a big priority. Could just as easily get a little clock for your computer desk :)

Get a Logitech G15 keyboard... Not only does it have a clock on it, but it has like 18 macro keys...
I don't think I could even play DDO on a normal keyboard anymore... I have everything hot-keyed now.

I think desk clocks go for like 99 cents at the dollar store. Set it next to your computer. :D I play on a 15" display as well and exclusivly play in windowed mode. Honestly 1/8" isnt much. Set your task bar to autohide and you wont lose anything.

I can't recall which game I played had this feature, but it seemed like a good one for the OP's type. (my type too)
In DDO, it would likely be expressed as /alarm [time] i.e. /alarm 11:30pm
It could cue off the client's system clock, so you wouldn't need to give it a time zone. When the alarm time came, it could pop up text at the top of the screen in large letters, for instance.

People who play on laptops would probably appreciate a clock or alarm as well.
Personally, I agree that a clock or alarm would be great to have. I currently have a second computer that I use for time, but it would be nice if I didn't have to rely on it.

Not entirely true. In windowed mode, you cannot modify the resolution, so your hotbars are HUGE. They take up a ton of space, and for people like me that have about 10-12 bars per toon, it's out of control.

Dont know if this is the one you were refering to but Civ4 has a built in clock. Heck it even has an alarm option that you can set.
This was an obvious option by a man who has clearly stayed up all night playing a game way too many times.
I like the idea. I even have a clock ontop of my desk but it is out of line of site so an in game one would be nice.

I have an option for windowed resolution. I play in window mode because all my hotbars are smaller and take up much less room

I asked for a clock a long time ago because I'm not in the US right now. It can be tough to keep up with what time it is in EST. Also, we don't have Daylight Savings Time here, so that always screws with the conversions. Having an official in Game Clock would make figuring out the times of events much easier. And when I get an in game notice that the servers are coming down at 8:30, I don't have to think, is it 14 hours difference or 13, and are they sill on DST?

On that note, I'd like them to change downtime announcements to read "Attention - the game servers are going down at 3pm EST for server maintenance - that's in 90 minutes. Please log out before then".
Conversions keep changing for me too.

I would use it, thanks.
