Hi all,

I am a casual gamer and this is my first post on the forums since I started playing. I have taken much joy in reading all your posts and have gained much from the knowledge that all of you have so generously shared. Recently, I have realised that I probably will never get to use WoP weapons to their full potential or garner as much joy as the many who really use them. I have had the fortune of pulling both these weapons in chests since I started to play since Beta, but till now they still just sit in my bank. I have decided to give these weapons away to the people on my server to perhaps help them on their questing.

The one thing I do very much miss is the strong sense of community DDO had when it first started. I am sure it is still there among many of the still existing guilds on all servers. But as the game becomes larger, I cannot help but feel daunted by the many new quests, requirements and flagging that I am not familiar with. I can imagine this would be much worse for new people who are still joining our game everyday. It would be good if we could be part of the solution than to add to the problem. (i love zerging )

I was initially going to just give these weapons up to random strangers during Christmas. But thinking through this more clearly, I thought that it might be careless of me to just give it up to someone who might just sell it to the general vendor for quick plat... So ya, if anybody has any good suggestions on what to do with them that could help the community better, such as offering them up as a prize for an event that you might be organising, would take the weapons in exchange for the commitment to always help newbies out in new raids, or simply trading me good gear that I could pass on to newbies/casual gamers (things that would really help them or make their day) ... then please suggest.

I have no real need for gear of my own. The gear that you guys leave in the brokers once in a while, or stuff on the auctions has left me happily geared up for most challenges. Plus, i think just smart or considerate gameplay makes up slightly for the lack of uber top gear.

Will leave this post up for about two weeks. So if anybody on Ghallanda needs these weapons and will in exchange do something beneficial for the community, then feel free to let me know and I will pass it on to the person with the best response.

I hope the community continues to grow ...

In the meantime, happy gaming. And Merry Early Christmas from Singapore.

p.s. I cannot offer this gear to people on other servers right? It would be good if this could benefit the whole community.

How about donating them to the people that donate items and time for a Christmas Giveaway? I'm not entirely sure if this is the same Jajar from PoD, but if so, do you remember when Grenk, myself, Bethesda, Bailey, and a few others made the Hanukkah Warforged and his Christmas Elves and gave things out to people. Just have people donate (useful) things to you to give away to people in need (beginning players, etc), and the two people that donate the most (including to help you give things away to others) get the items. That way you're spreading the cheer to everyone (not in Korthos).

I think i know how you feel, been playing since beta but have taken several breaks from ddo and play permadeath, among other things. I still dont have a character flagged for all the raids. Its really hard to keep up with the uberness sometimes. I like to have fun running quests and not feel i need ever piece of uber loot available. Tried a couple guilds but nothing worked out well. But I found a way for the game to be great, dedicated static groups with rules on twinking and such.

I'm not looking for your gear, the only characters i have on Ghal are non twinked.
But giving it away would be cool, just gotta be something unusual and fun.
Stormreach olympics was a cool thing, or a scavenger hunt. Or something like clankenbeard and lessa, from ddocast did, cant remember what it was called, was really cool.

Heya Jajar and Raegar. Jajar, If you do decide to go with Reagars idea, Ill volunteer to help you hand out goodies to lowbies around christmas time.
Is there a checker board floor somewhere? Maybe guilds could compete in a chess game, with players toons as board pieces, or even checkers for a more simple game.

yes, am the jajar from PoD. And ya, planning to give out lots of stuff to noobs (high level ones included) during christmas. don't have much left though cos have been helping whatever newbies i meet ... am just gonna save the WoP for a more experienced player that knows exactly what to do with them... nice to know that some PoD are still around... :)

and could all who respond try to do so on the general board and (unless really necessary) not send private messages. I think its good that we can all share ideas ... and as raegar says, best idea or most generous christmas giveaways get the weapons...

The one thing that separates this game from the many others out there, i believe, is the cool community that seems to have become a little jaded or absorbed over the year. Let's help remind each other what this game is about. Then at least if young ones (or even our own children) play with us then we can be satisfied that they are among good company.
