You see turbine coming up with all these enw high level raids but shouldnt we get a lowbie raid? maybe level 3 or 4?
It would be fun to be in a raid at low level and to help out new players on what they will be doing in the future.
Just a thought while waiting for servers to come back up

You really want to get set on fire. I would like a low level raid but you watch in 5 minutes 10 people will be burning you because they seem to think you blaze through lower levels too fast to warrant expending content on such a small crowd. I can bet 2 shiny CP on it.

I like the idea of a lowbie raid. Yes the powergamers will flame you because it's all about capping in one week so they feel the game should only center on high level content and their needs but a low level raid would put a little more fun into levelling. IMHO

Good lord KK, haven't you been paying attention? 1 week to cap is too slow, look at our guildies who can do it in 2-3 days :D
Oh, and OP...yup, low level raid would be fun... even if all they did was crank up Irestone or SC a notch and turn it into a raid.

Ya they don't even like the fact that you have to run through the NPE area once.
However I do think for the good of the game mod 9 should be all about high lvls(which from what I hear it is) then mabye mod 10 they can do a little more low lvl stuff.

Misery's Peak
that is all the raid that you need
at this point in the game, anyone who his not level 5 or 6 after about a week of playing needs to get a clue

However, why not call lvl 7 low? Most people get stuck between lvl 7 and 10 trying to find groups and things to do for exp. That would be a nice place for a raid.

Nah too easy.
On a serious note I feel there are quests that resemble raids (without actually being 12 member) quests. If you take a group of new players fresh off the boat into Misery's Peak, Waterworks, STK, Tangleroot or Delera's they will struggle and have a good time figuring out the quest as if it were a raid. We burn through these because we have the equipment and previous knowledge necessary to do so.
If you simply want a quest with 12 members of lowbie players to run then I really don't see much of a point. I have a hard enough time rerolling and getting 6 competent players let alone 12 of appropriate class.

it is hard to pug with current populations
but, if you play on the weekends, you can usually find a group for it if you are willing to wait

You are incorrect sir as I have a few alts that are months old sitting at the 2-5 range. I also have 3 capped alts and a few from 7-12 so I do not think I need a clue. There are casual gamers who may only be able to play a few hours a week so this is a very shortsighted remark.

if you concentrated on one or two at a time, amazing things would happen
anyway, there is plenty for low levels in this game to do
after korthos island, you can get to level 6 with just running the harbor, tangle & stk
later

I'm not saying that you couldn't do it all I'm saying is blanket statements like "get a clue" can be dangerous. There are many reasons some people take awhile to level alts. I have gone the fast route on some and others I just don't feel like playing.

Some might have noticed different numbers of sahuagin spawning at various difficulty levels at the Korthos quests. I did. This is one step towards variable difficulty quests. The next is to increase the CR of the monsters and indeed, various difficulty levels give different CR monsters. So, two down.
The next is to adapt treasure tables, CR of monsters, trap difficulty, numbers of monsters spawning, etc. and perhaps range of monster types as applicable to the setting, by average level of the group. The Devil Assault quest in the market at level 6 on normal for the fifth wave spawns CR11 trogs which is a big step up from the CR7 or so tieflings in the previous waves.
All that we need is a mechanism to note average level across the group, perhaps even offensive and defensive capabilities such as some sort of composite threat level rating, and apply that to the mechanism of spawn levels and numbers. So that a cleric level 11 and a fighter level 2 as a duo would not cause something geared at a level 6.5 but probably a bit lower because no matter how good that cleric is, he's not going to stop the level 2 fighter from being one-shotted on a crit by a CR8 hobgoblin. In fact, it will be rez city.
Then adjust XP and what not accordingly.
Of course, there's no real way to make Meridia a lowbie area, so apply this level adaptation mechanism in groups of levels, say 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17-20, like that. Maybe intermediate overlapping level groupings even.

Is it just me or do you guys think they have something planned for Three Barrel Cove.. I mean have you seen the black Cove/grotto area? That is ALOT of stuff for just 4-5 quests. I'm hoping for a raid maybe in the low to mid level areas there.

Maybe ... and I know this is hard for some people to belive but .... JUST MAYBE he does not WANT to?
For a lot of people the game is the journey and NOT the destination. I took my sweet time lvling my first char to 10 back when that was the lvl cap and it still happened to quick in my book. I memorize quests really easily and this is the only reason why I have lvled any of my chars fast.
Starting a new char and getting it to the point where it is at lvl cap and just farming raids and quests for equipment as fast as possible seems pointless to me. To those out there that are in fact new and don't have everything memorized ... don't rush, enjoy the journey because you will cap and have everything memmed before you know it. Also ... don't pay attention to the comments made by others like CSFurious where he stated "at this point in the game, anyone who his not level 5 or 6 after about a week of playing needs to get a clue ".

I am sure they do (otherwise that area would be a pointless waiste of development) but for the sake of the game I hope they don't do anything with it till mod 10(and don't think they will). We had the 3BC revamp in mod 7 (to much b*tching from the powergamers about lack of end game content) and now we have NPE revamp in mod 8 (again to much b*tching from the powergamers about lack of end game content). While I agree the the decisions to do that (as they are very nice and helps) we do need to have a lot of content added to take us from lvl 16 to 20. Not to mention the enhancements and stuff they have mentioned they are working on. Then with Half-orc and half-elf (if I remember reading correctly) coming in mod 10 it would be nice to see that get filled out then.

Hey, I think it'd be a cool idea, if the Devs had more resources, or if they souped up a current quest to a Raid status.
However, the reason I'm against it at this point is because I feel we have had more than enough lowbie content created recently.
With a Level Cap scheduled next, we really need more High End Quests.
Heck, we needed them this Mod, but I'm ok with it because I understood the desire for the NPE (although it's more cosmetic than anything really, most of the quests were just refitted old quests), and the fact that I don't mind taking some breaks from the game.
Real Life is slowly taking away from my Game Life so the low amount of High Level content hasn't impacted me as much as other Gamers with more Game Time available.
In the future I'd be for a Low Level Raid, but only if Turbine could really afford the resources, because let's face it, as cool as it could be, it's replay value for anyone who doesn't re-roll a lot is very, very limited.

Yeppers a low level raid would be very cool, and I have said this for a long time. To keep the haters away they would probably need to drop it in with a high one as well. The game surely could use the low one.
