Does anyone know what happened to the combat log for DC dice rolls against the monsters? I mean it just states either its a hit or miss.I have turned on every incoming message option in combat log and thrown every spell with and without SR and no numbers? Before I had numbers like Combat: you roll 15 (+27) you hit!, now i dont see anything other than hit or miss.Am i missing something?

The dice rolls for Spell Penetration checks still exist. If you don't see those then I'm not sure what to tell you.
The dice rolls for monsters saving vs. the DC of your spell (or ability) have always been hidden from you, as that is for the monster to roll. These have never been displayed. You should, however, see if a monster gets hit by your spell (or ability) in the combat log along with the damage it does, but nothing more.
Out of curiosity this is something I'll check as I normally watch the dice graphic for Spell Penetration checks and not the combat log.

I used to make "secret" rolls as a DM and the players didn't always know what was being rolled nor what the chances of success were.

Thanks for the info you have given.I guess my wizzy is broken, today after work I went to do some more testing and only die rolls im getting are for concentration checks and nothing more. The reason im asking is because IMHO I have (or had) a pretty decent wizzy, lvl capped, maxed intel and spell pen with top game gear.During my testing a little while ago in in the searing heights I threw several spells on the poor little quickfoot fighters, most spells landed but no die rolls, only confirmations of hit or miss.Worst part of this is i threw 2 heightened FOD's that were saved against before I followed up with a insta-kill PK. I then proceeded to Gianthold where I saw similar saves against heightened instant death spells. The fortitude save against a heightened FOD is a 31 for my wizzy's casting abilities.I could almost buy the "well you rolled 1's and they rolled 20's" theory in Gianthold but in Searing Heights also? Not buying that one until I can see the numbers. Is anyone else having similar problems?

its not a problem you don't roll for your DCs on spells, monsters roll against your static DC (DC = 10 +spell level +ability score modifier+applicable feats and items). Monster rolls are private there is no way for you to see what they rolled you just see save or fail. The only thing you roll for when casting spells in this game is concentraion (if you are getting hurt; DC =10+spell level of attempted spell+ damage taken) and spell pen (which wouldn't apply to any monster with 0 SR)

You only see a die roll if you have to make a Spell Pen check. There's no Spell Pen check against Quickfeet and most giants/trolls/ogres/gnolls/orcs.

HAHA, I did that too, sometimes I just rolled the dice for no reason and made them wounder why I am rolling, and if nothing happens, what they missed.... I also told them that the back end of the party had a strange feeling that they are being watched, and of course, nothing there (MOST of the time).... LOL..... I used to love to play PNP (havent for many many years now).
