Stop Whining!

I have been reading a lot of the posts lately; and listening to players in-game, complain and criticize almost every aspect of DDO and Turbine! Well, here's my take on all this!

A lot of you people are making remarks about stuff like the air elementals in the reaver! C'MON! we had it made till they were added! In my opinion, it's not hard enough still!

My gaming friends, a raid should be the toughest test of our abilities! NOT a cake walk! I think raids should be have a success ratio of 10% max!

New content; those of you that criticize the content and complexity of our new areas, need to start writing your own game! These people are trying to give us a story line that reflects our PnP stuff! Or didn't you play this game on paper? If you want to just go kill everything as fast as you can, go back to WOW!

The home page for forums, has a poll, did you see it? Did you vote? Not having maps, or a guide, or previous knowledge of a quest, is what this game is all about! What would you do if; EVERY door had different content? Or a dungeon had floors that randomly collapsed? Ever see the movie " The Cube"? That would be way cool right? Well I don't see that happening any time soon.

And for you obsessed players, that were crafting dragon armor with-in 24 hrs of mod 8 release, you need to get some professional help!

I was doing skele loot runs (subterranean)over the weekend, and 1/2 of the players didn't even bother with picking up the gold and plat in the treasure plie! (are you the players buying from plat farmers?) " I don't have time for all that searching and gathering" Don't have time?

What are you people going to do when the cap is raised? Be level 20 in one night? Then you'll be whining for higher level content! Slow down!! Or maybe just start soloing everything! ( I know! Some of you already do ) Please don't reply on how UBER of a player you are! Save that for your bio that you read every day!

I'm not saying Turbine has made a perfect game! There are some major issues with alot of things. BUT... Let's all just try to enjoy this game, and give some respect to the programmers that can't write content fast enough for you! I really feel that for the most part, those of you that are whining and complaining are out growing this game, and its sole purpose; ENTERTAINMENT

Good point I just am too quick to jump in to a thread sometimes and people who immediatly post a response you see in every thread like this. The whole whining about whining. I know we get it. The responses are growing as old as the posts.

I have been far too bitter lately and apologize to people but I am growing frustrated. Between known issues being pushed live even though they know about them and broken class weapons. It is just getting tiresome.

Which part of the Gaming population would his Highness like to be able to hit 10% completion? (Trick Question just in case you haven´t figured it out)

a) Power Gamers (If Their Ratio is 10%, well then everyone else is hosed)
b) Casual Gamers (if 10% is Their ratio...PowerGamers will be around say 70%)
c) RolePlayers (Thats about Their ratio today anyway :eek:)
d) Perma-Deathers (10% odds.....so much for Raiding!)

Okay not going to lie the red on black kinda hurt my eyes so I skimmed the OP. I will say this I dont want to see a stop in the complaints quite simply because while some are just rants (which I tend to avoid anyway) Some people do point out blantant things that are wrong with the game and are actually trying to help better the game. Id rather not be stuck with silent sheep when I can have ornery goats who get things changed for the better. Sure it gets tiring seeing multiple posts on this and that but you know what till things change people are going to vent and as long as we have a forums for it they have a right to use it. And you know what if I see a topic I know thats been beaten into the ground I either avoid it by the title (cause a lot of times a controvesial or angry title is just a flame thread waiting to ignite) Or I read it and move on.

Everyone gets fed up with things but id rather see people get those frustrations out in words on this forums then to take their money and just leave the game. Maybe im in the minority but id hate the day where the forums turned into an everyone agrees with everyone festival anyway. Not only would that be boring but it would mean that people have given up completely on doing anything to make this game better.

SOme are legit complaints. However many are not. Bashing them cuz they messed up again isn't good for morale. I like happy devs. Better product.

If that was true, the game would be dead. I don't like games I cannot beat. Heck, I don't like quests I cannot beat at level, like stealthly repo and Freshen the Air. No, this would be stupid, and game killing. Make it a challenge? yes. Make it unbeatable? No. Ask about the Abbott.

There is a point when fustration sets in. Too random means unplayable for most. Though randomness would be fun. By this time my ire of you screaming has capped. Your smilely isn't helping.

That's isn't new, and here I find your arguments weakening. If you are that much better thanthe Uber Elitists, you are running loot runs for a Icy Rainment? I did no such thing, for I find that to be an exploit.

This was pure nonsense. They already soloing everything, Uber Elitists, remember? Most want to see their toon to the end. Alot of people don't havethe patience for slowing down. Zergers, remember? As long as they don't force me to play their way, I don't care. Ifthey whine on the forums, I will post, and they will have to deal with it.

- Should a Raid be hard, hell yes. Was the Reaver too easy, yes it was (but the devs did previously comment that they did want it to be a raid we could easily get in/out of and do in a short time). BUT, I think the BIG gripe about what they did in reaver wasnt because they made it harder, but they did it in the STUPIDEST, EASIEST way that they could. They could have spent some time thinking of F U N ways to make it harder but throwing in ALOT more Air Elementals is a lazy way of doing this. Throw in 20 other creatures in the game and I think you might hear less ****ing and moaning. Throw in one of the most frustrating (because they require no skill to beat but PURE LUCK to stop one) and people get very frustrated. Not only that but the few means that did work on them before (PK, FoD, etc...) Now almost never work so all you can do is hope and pray that someone miraculously can stand for 2 seconds and get a swing in every 30 seconds to kill ONE Elemental is ridiculous. Its not difficult for any good logical reason but because of a ridiculously unblanced monster

- cant really add much to this as I dont disagree mostly. Except the aprt about playing PnP in regards to the above comments on the Reaver (If your DM had done something this uninspiring and lazy, youd be ****ED and probably let them know. And yes, I played and DM'd A LOT

- the reason for that was simple: Efficiency! over the course of 5 runs, if everyone stopped to loot all of the gold, they would effectivly waste enough time that a 6th and maybe 7th run could have been done in the same amount of time. You do the math: loot all the piles of gold for a total of 200-300 plat or have enough time to run the entire thing and get 2 level 17 chests with 5000-10000+ woth of plat??

- Well, first off... many players will be level 17 in 2-3 minutes and thats not our fault. Were parked capped at a few xp below level. As for the slow down part, please understand that many players have been playing this game for 24+ months instead of the 11 months you have been playing. We are starved for things to do and love our capepd toons and simply want to play them. We have slowed down, we have sped up, we have played different classes, different races, played permadeath, played naked, played drunk, played in our sleep.. basically we have played the game everyway we can imagine. And you know why (it aint cause were hatefull whiners), its because we LOVE THIS GAME. Lastly, not uber, never ever claimed to be uber nor have ever posted it in bio ;)

People who stay and complain do it out of love or addiction (and believe it or not, most complainers dont always complain and often have ALOT of constructive information that has helped make it a better game).

Lord I find this amazing and mostly humerous... such heated discussions and flaming over a game. Lets get a little perspective here:

1) Recent financial crisis that came close to bankrupting the country
2) Many American soldiers abroad who have not been home in more than a year
3) Global Warming or cooling depending and where you live and who's currently got the microphone
4) Thousands or working families without health insurence let alone the money to play this game
5) Numerous American jobs beng shipped overseas leading to yet more problems


I could go on but you get the point. Its a game let everyone play how they want. There are real problems in the world. This isn't one of them. If you like the game whatever percieved problems there are play it.... if the problems are to much for you don't play. Its truly that simple.
