View Full Version : BSOD after I pick a server

So I think I've caught a few posts here and there but I haven't found a solution yet. I didn't have any problem getting the updates and it was only after it was all done that I experienced a problem when trying to get to the opening splash screen after I picked a server. I didn't get an error at all but a complete computer restart. I trolled the knowledge base and tried changing a few things in the UserPreferences.ini file, installing .NetFrameworks etc and nothing. Some have talked about changing some line in the ini file to force it to use dx9 but i don't have that line and i don't have dx10 installed that I know of (I ran a dxdiag to check since I did download and potentially installed dx10... apparently not). I tried checking for any other MS updates, I don't have anything else running other than a couple web browsers... what am I missing? Do I have to try and do a system restore at the last point?

UPDATE: Ok so I'm back in game and apparently Turbine added features to both video and audio so even though I had the latest video card updates it appears my audio drivers needed an upgrade! So... update your drivers!

I went to that link that Elaril posted, and there are a couple ways to send in stuff. The very first e-mail I sent I got no response but was probably after hours and of course that first night I posted this thread it was after hours for chat so the next day (lucky for me it was during the afternoon so maybe not quite so busy) I was able to activate a chat session once with Jo then with Paul but I also sent a very specific email before I activated a chat session with Paul and as it turns out someone emailed me back in that 5 min wait for a person to be availible for chat. It took me a day to figure it out but I've played this game long enough that I'm not gonna sweat a day esp since it seems a bunch of people were having problems similar to mine. They're not gonna alienate a **** load of people.

Everytime I have a problem that I can't figure out myself or can't seem to find the answer to on the forums or in the Knowledge Base I go to the website E posted. So far so good.
