It seems to me the main complaint is that newbies won't be able to ask for help, well how about if we make sure that at all times there is an lfm up offering help to new players? And, before you shoot this down think about it, while you are hanging out at the AH or house D vendors put up an LFM offering help, no biggie and its something everyone can do, you don't need to be leet to help a newb :) some of the bigger guild could even work out some kind of rotation, so lets get together on this and make it work, its in all our best interest.

Not saying their cause isn't reasonable, just that your suggestion might tick a few people off.

I was a new player this Spring, and I don't get the big issue. I never used tell once. One of the first things you do after completing all the easy starter quests and learning the game is look at the "looking for group" panel. You then join up and say "I'm new". Then someone helps you out. Which you won't even need that much because you've figured out most of the game anyway. The best advice they'll give you is to turn on voice.

Still downloading the new mod so reponding only to what has been posted. I'll reiterate my opinion from another thread on this that I see this as a positive thing. If people provide trial accounts to others and can't be bothered to spend time helping them out then they really aren't much of a friend. IMO the original rant is way out of line.
Now my question -- General chat: does it still work? See, I never get tells from new players. I see a lot of new players typing into general chat "Can someone help me please" but I've never ever even once gotten a tell.
New players using trial accounts have several options. They can put up a LFG with a note about being new and wanting help -- that doesn't violate any LFM rule and identifies them easily. Generous players, those more concerned for new players than the ones who enabled them to get trial accounts but then abandoned them to the game, can /tell and explain they are sending an invite. Form a group and use group chat, heck get a couple of people on at once, even make it a raid group.
OP's idea is certainly one that has merit. But there are other alternatives as well.

i like this idea, and when i was a noob it was horrible, i didnt know until lvl 4 how to look in the lfm's so hopefully this solution works for some. those who dont look at lfm's early, I hope they figure the things out early, at least earlier than i did.
i remember that so well when i finally got into my guild, I was timid this being my first mmo, i havent logged into the game yet, **** work, but i wonder what the NPE will do for those who have never played an mmo.

Don't see a problem with the LFM nazis, seems to me we used to see this kind of LFM regularly a while back, just time to do it again.
