Drop off landscapes for a second... and go knock some heads in the item to graphic selection team. Show them that they've now picked the two ugliest Breastplates of Destruction and attempt to find a more monster destructive and less player destructive graphic for them.

Obviously, people here have never been to a museum with medieval German armor and weapons. They weren't always the stylish artists over there that they manage to be now. Braun's design department obviously wasn't yet a twinkle in anyone's eyes in 1355. But then, the battlefield that needed armor was not going to be a pretty place...

Actually, that suit is specifically designed for low int fighters. The odd protrusion actually catches the drool as it runs off the chin, protecting the armor from rust.

We're playing a game where dragons disguise themselves as humanoids and seduce bank managers to get into an impenetrable vault. Where people can carry several tons of gear on their person at a time. Where there exist a subset of people devoted to worshiping a half-dragon/half-elven lich.

So saying "real armor was ugly" does absolutely nothing to add to the conversation or the statement that, well, the armor is butt ugly and, as raid loot, it shouldn't be.

It feels good to have been right, though. But now I'll just put the **** BP back in the bank & hope that the third time's the charm & the Devs give us something that can be worn proudly next time. Two strikes, Turbine. Either have your art-team step up to the plate with some intent, or don't bother. This half-assed change is pretty feeble. And it does look worse.

Well said...except I'm don't think that those in the Blood of Vol who are aware of Errandis d'Vol's existence worship her; more like obey her without question. The BoV is all about Divinity Within, not laying to responsibility for enlightenment and power at another entity's feet. ;)

I'd like to also add that this is a video game and as such there is a certain expectation of artistic design that comes along with it. Whatever real life suits of armor were in the past, it has little if anything at all to do with how they look in a fantasy game.

This is a video game, not a battlefield. Ergo aesthetic considerations have a place.

I was sure they were going to screw it up again, and they did.

Although, at least they didnt just rob the graphic from a bunch of named lowbie items. The Full Plate of the Defender looks like the Mithral full plate of speed, the scavenged warplate, and the tourney armor

I think it sucks. The white looked awful on dwarves but not bad on my drow bard. At least it was different.

Now it just looks like junky starter armour.
