Like DDO? Like reading about DDO? If you answered yes to any of these questions (preferably both) then you'll love this article (http://www.warcry.com/articles/view/previews/5401-D-D-Online-Module-8-Hands-On) from WarCry, as they detail their hands-on experience with Module 8: Prisoners of Prophecy!

By far, my favorite of the four was the Air sub-dungeon, which was also the last. Unlike the other three, which were all in different types of caverns, the Air realm is essentially one big semi-spiral path that stretches high into the sky. To make things worse (or better, depending on your point of view), there aren't any railings, and wandering tornado-like elementals have a tendency to knock you high into the air. It's possible to land back on the platform, but it's also possible to fall off - which thankfully only brings you back to Sor'Jek's main chamber, so it's more of a nuisance than a fatal catastrophe.
This part doesn't sound too promising. Granted, he wasn't an experienced player, but given the headaches air elementals have given players in the past, it could still be bad.

Is this the answer to the question: "what could be worse than Coalescence Chamber?"

I thought the same thing when I read that...oh. great - more time on my back. Still, the high level quest sounds challenging and interesting overall. I really liked what I read.

I found this quote to be all too true:
"All four were certainly entertaining, but the Air realm in particular had a great sense of "platformer" about it. The team intended the Sor'Jek timed quest to be completed by a coordinated, skilled group of players, said Paiz - it was meant to be challenging. Groups would have to split up, especially in the Air subdungeon, with players having to push buttons and pull levers to clear a path for their teammates. Though the team joked that they were "sadistic," Paiz explained that the DDO community was very, very resourceful. One of the biggest challenges for the developers was keeping up with their players and finding new ways to make them work for their rewards. "

So instead of listening to players who the majority of hate things like col chamber and the pit, the go ahead and make something worse and on top add air eles... so let me get this strait
they make a mod that was supposed to have the lev cap increase according to devs in begining of year.. no cap increase....
they delay the mod for their new playtoy hirelings.. oh mod 8 will launch without them...
no raid.. no raid loot... no hamster wheel... umm
and now one of the few dungys we get is a complete waste of our time????
*wishes for pc parts to arrive sooner so he can go back to warhammer where the devs actually give two flying f'n leaps about their player base*

Well, unless they significantly changed how Air Elementals work, I imagine that the Air sub-quest is going to be very frustrating.
Note to Devs, Frustrating != Fun.

I bet you another major mnemonic there will be short sight distances and pop-ups so you can't engage at least some of the ellies at range.

Well actually reading the whole section it sound like you can control the dungeon with switches so I imagine pulling the rights switches as someone goes up will shut down the elementals
by a coordinated, skilled group of players.. whens the last time we heard this.. the abbot???? oh yeah this sounds real promising

Dont have the time to read the full article atm, but 1 question bugs me troughout this mod. Didnt we kill Sorjec in tempest already? Or was it another one, or how does he come in picture at all now?
On another note: I like Coal and Pit, both are near to my favourites :) granted, i hated both at first, but after learning on my own they bekame fun quests, and im sure this new one will be the same.

I almost think Mythic cares too much. I swear the stupid servers are down whenever I have a large amount of time to play. Triweekly patches (some with secondary down times in the day) are too often. Hopefully they'll slow down to weekly and then monthly patches pretty soon... maybe do a bit more QA on each patch so they dont have to hotfix half them the rest of the day.
At least DDO and War have been good at not both being down on the same days.

Yup, that was the part that scared me too. The rest of it sounded kind of interesting...
Well one other worry, that "coordinated effort thing"... If they mean Abbot level coordination then the quest is dead before it starts, but if they mean the type of split the team coordination used in the von 4 lightning area, then that's a positive thing. I'll wait to judge that part.

I'm not passing judgment on it yet either. As others have said though, the thought of air elementals combined with paths you can fall off of doesn't exactly inspire enthusiasm.;

That is a good point.
I have never been in that raid, though, so it doesn't quite make my spine tingle... yet.

Well, for me.... that review of that last dungeon sounded AWESOME
6-man raid basically... timed... skilled players required... a lot of tough fights...
I'm really looking forward to it
(For the record, Coal Chamber is ridiculously easy - only people who think it is hard are those who did it once and never went back - after the third time through, you'll never fall off again)
If this is the way you feel then please by all means leave, we don't need your negativity.

Most likely.
You called a dungeon that you haven't even seen yet a 'waste of our time'. As if you speak for me, or anyone else other than yourself. Then, even if speaking for yourself, how can you testify that it is a waste of your time simply by a quick review from a website that also said a chest can only be reached by monks with a high jump skill that the devs quickly squashed?

Actually Massively did that one.
But still this one was written by a guy who has had NO experience with DDO, so who knows what it will be like.

Actually I see the air part as:
with survival in trap-filled dungeons depending not just on rolls of the dice but on how especially cruel the DM was feeling on that day
But it will be like part 4 of the shroud, hard at first but everyone will know how it is supposed to be done soon enough. After all this will have some good crafting ingredients probably which will be incentive for players to run it till they know it (unlike Abbott).

I wouldn't put too much faith in ANYTHING specific that this guy says, considering that he claimed that there weren't any Wizard or Sorc hirelings. Considering that I've had both kinds in my party, I kinda know better.
Of course, he WAS right about there not being Rogue hirelings, but Turbine seems to be leaning towards NOT introducing them. Not that it'd be difficult to do; put Open Lock, Disable Device, and Search on their Hireling bar, and make 'em say something (preferably in party chat) when their Spidey sense goes off. Hell, tweak the "interact" button on the hotbar, and you don't even need OL or DD to be separate icons...

But to me, and this is my only opinion, its a great example of the higher-ups not listening to the player base. They know eveyone hates Col. Chamber. Sounds so far disappointing, hopefully they prove me wrong.
Time to dust off the Nintendo and brush up on the ledge jumping.
