Look, risa already discussed the potential dangers of epileptics and the inability to see the black screen for red-green colorblind people, but I got literally nauseous when i saw that rage sceen pulsing. And I read in moving cars, eat greasy foods on boat rides, etc. This literally was the first time I saw something in a video game and it got a physical reaction from me. I'm sure I'm not the only one either.
Now if it were simple as not playing barbarians, that could be an option. But it covers ALL rage effects, and I got nauseous even after a brief duration of seeing it (after several seconds.) If my other non rage pc's get raged or madstoned or that bracers one that gives up to +8 str...whatever its name is...and it lasts, I gotta quit the game.
I'm not joking or trying to pull weight or threaten, just saying I literally will not play something that makes me feel sick and possibly makes me throw up.
So, instead of me being forced to disable all of those group's graphical effects, please just add that checkbox for us who want to disable that one aspect.
Thank you for your time......I'm going to take some antacids now since I apparantly have some reflux or bad physical memories still or something.....

They are changing it to a short duration.
We'll be changing the "heartbeat" and red screen effects to fade away after a few seconds.I can live with that, I think. I'm not a fan of the effect either, but this is a decent compromise.

and already began to feel sick.
As above, worried about multiple things at once "extending it." And hey, I shouldn't get ill from something not tested first (Mournlands for bad reactions as I know the color blind would have said in an instant.) Look, not trying to be a prima donna here, just asking for a disable checkbox. If they did it for dragonmarks and you can do it for a whole group of video effects, I'm sure disabling that ONE effect in the UI or graphics can be done.
Oh, and if you copied E's quote, you should have seen my posting there AFTER his posting addressing this the first time.
I felt that since the thread wasn't moved as requested here, my posting to why I personally needed a disable would do for now.

Having not installed the Risia client on my computer, I can only guess as to what you're seeing.
It sounds like casting Rage on someone else will become the new griefing of choice.

Please don't make me look at the You tube again also! (Okay, gotta get back on that rage horse....even a crying halfling barbarian becomes pathetic after a few days of uninterupted laughter.)
Still wondering if multiple things go off concurrently if that lengthens the rage special effect...please say no as I don't have the boots on the barb or my wiz STILL at L 14 highest at level since risa has yet to do another character transfer...to check.
If no...thank everything and everybody it's over, since I do last 3 seconds OK so far!

I think it would just reapply the effect (another three seconds of ick) each time the Rage hits. So, if you have Madstone Boots - it could get annoying if the random Rage pops a lot - or if multiple casters get Rage Happy in Shroud.

Hmm I really really hope it doesn't happen every single time you get reraged/madstoned if you're already raged.

The pulse effect is barely noticeable unless you try to do NOTHING but focus on it.

I dont play a barb but that could get realy old fast, even if its not very noticable, its still there not matter how noticable.
Some ppl might like it but not all will, not hard to put it in the UI options.
Just my 2 cents.

But I can't see the difference between 3 seconds of this and some of the other spell effects in game. Surely if one makes you sick others would?
